Busy Around Here
My Mother refuses to use the Internet, even though she has in the past. She sees no need to bother with it, as I am available to deal with it for her.
As a result, in addition to everything else I have been doing, I have been dealing with things that she has agreed to without my knowledge or input regarding the timing. Having not bothered to do any of these things for some time she neither knows nor actually cares what is involved, only that I admit that what she wants done, can be done.
Therefore I have been doing a lot of scanning and e-mailing for her and dealing with gifts that she received that utilize the Internet to function properly.
I like to schedule things, and to do things in a linear fashion. I can multitask, and have been quite good at it, or I wouldn’t be alive today, but that doesn’t mean I like to do it. This is a trait that sets me apart from most of my family, as they seem to enjoy having a lot of things going on at the same time, and jumping from one thing to another.
If there is a reduction in activity on the blog, it should only be temporary, while I sort some things out. I check in multiple times during the day, but tend to wait until the late night to write anything, because that is the only time when I can be assured of not being interrupted.

Your mom sounds like the people I work for. They have no idea what’s involved, don’t want to know, just want it done! Hope it goes well.
She is frustrated by her inability to do everything she used to do, so I’ve become a way for her to accomplish things. The problem is that she doesn’t left me finish one thing before she wants several other things done.

one time when my brother and i were teenagers, we were out in the garage, helping dad with some projects. so there we were, my brother and i, crouched down on the garage floor, holding together some piece of repaired furniture or something, until the glue set. one of the neighbors dropped by, to say ‘howdy’ and see what was going on, and offered to lend my dad some large clamps [the kind that are 3′ or 4′ long].
‘no, that’s ok,’ my dad said. ‘this is why people have kids.’
Just another “tool”. 😉
Ah, I’ve seen this before. Your family members have never needed to learn to multi-task. They have you 😉
My brothers act just like my Mother, jumping around among multiple projects at the same time, but nothing ever seems to get finished.
