While I Was Hurricane Watching …

Jim McKay at archy had a birthday on Thursday, and I failed to mention it. After a certain point if someone mentions their birthday you should acknowledge it.

Apparently riding the ‘Tour de Rook’ isn’t enough pain, so Rook is going to update the Movable Type software again. He remembers things going smoothly, while I remember my account being lost and then his blog roll evaporating. YMMV.

Rook asked a question “What makes him so important?”, dealing directly with David Brooks, but it applies to most of the people on major Op-Ed pages. What exactly have these people done in their lives that makes them worth reading? Have their ‘prophesies’ turned out to be true or not? Brooks is supposed to be a conservative, but the only thing he seems to want to conserve is his personal paycheck as a pundit.

Most of the East Coast bloggers have checked in, but there are millions without power, so you have to wait.

For the people who weren’t impressed with the amount of damage that Irene did, let me just say – that was the preliminary event. The main event is fighting with your insurance company to get the coverage that you have been paying for.

Thanks for the mention. I always feel a little guilty whining about my birthday since it comes in the middle of the hurricane season. But, if you can’t whine on your birthday, when can you?

I feel bad about being so busy with ‘real life’ that the hurricanes are about all I have time for on line, and can’t leave comments so other people know that they are being read.

From 40 to 60 I never mentioned by birthday. Actually from 22 to 40 I didn’t really even remember it except when my Mother and Dad called. Everyone is an individual.

I’m back, I’m back. Oh, and so is my blog roll. It wasn’t my fault it left. BlogRolling shut down. I have figured out how to do a new blog roll, and even started restoring some if it. Oh, and your account is still available. I reset you a new password. I’ll be sending it by mail.

Oh, and you’re back on the blog roll. Didn’t realize you were missing!

I noticed you seemed to be back up with a new post.

I’ve been checking on people on my blog roll, and they seem to be OK, but a few are still in the dark.

Thanks for taking care of the account thing. I have meant to comment a couple of times but I have been rushed lately. I have a bunch of stuff that I wanted to post, but RL keeps intruding.
