Stop Projecting!

It is Zero all over again, with Ron Paul.

Stop projecting what you want onto the words of Ron Paul, and start listening critically to what he is saying. The man isn’t a libertarian, he is an old-fashioned states-rights Southerner.

Listen to him, and you will notice that all of the seemingly ‘personal liberty’ he talks about is based on removing the FEDERAL government from all oversight, and devolving power back to the states. He wants the states to make the decisions as to what rights people have and don’t have. While other Republicans dream of returning the country to the 1950s, his goal is the 1850s.

The only government he is interested in curbing is the Federal government.

Oh sure, Goldy Dwarf is kinda old and stiff and racist and all and does a lot of ranting at kids about how the only real money is gold coins, which totally baffles them because if you try spending gold coins at a supermarket the clerks just look at you as if you’re deranged. The kids like him though ’cause he’s, like, totally down with smoking pot. Like, wow, man.

Alaska and the Middle East are the only places I’ve ever been where gold was accepted, but woe betide anyone attempting to pass the wrong mineral off as gold. Most Alaskan stores would accept dust or nuggets, but the Middle East wanted only the refined variety.

Gold and paper currency are the same – they are worth what someone is willing to give you for them.

Paul doesn’t think the Feds should be interfering in the drug market, but the states can do what they want. That’s his uniform answer for everything.

there are too few people alive who remember what that really is, and far too many who never knew.

on the whole, that’s a good thing, but it sure does make it more difficult to convince people that ron paul is NOT “the lesser of two evils.”

The thing that bugs me is that he makes it clear if you really pay attention, that his opposition is limited to the Feds, not to all governments. He wants a return to the Articles of Confederation.

Yes, it is good that these whackoes have been removed from power for the most part and been marginalized, but they never really totally disappeared from the political arena.
