Grinch Leads

As South Carolina is a winner-take-all state, Newt “Efting” Gingrinch’s win means that he leads in the delegate count with 23 of the 1144 needed for the nomination.

Romney, after Santorum was declared the real winner in Iowa, has 19, Santorum 12, Ron Paul 3, and Jon Huntsman has 2 delegates [according to reporting that seems to have originated with AP]

Florida is next, which is why the SuperPAC that isn’t controlled by Mitt Romney [no, sir, no way, we are independent] has been airing anti-Newt ads for over a week.

About the only thing that would be worse than tonight for Willard, would be if Ron Paul beats him in Virginia, as they are the only two candidates on that ballot.

The way things are going, the networks are going to partnering with bail-bondsmen to hold the thousands of debates they seem to want to run. [Debates are even cheaper to fill up time than reality shows.]

This one drove me to biscuits. (I don’t drink, I bake 😉 ). The question is whether the Grinch can repeat his feat in Florida, he won the George Wallace vote in South Carolina (he knew his audience!), but that’s only North Florida…

The Grinch is low on money, but if the sharks smell blood on the water, that situation will remedy itself. Frankly, I think he’s as surprised about South Carolina as everybody else, it seemed to me that he went into South Carolina full-tilt only out to spite Romney, not because he thought he had any chance of winning the thing. So now he won it. Now what? He has to be staring at the election results mouth agape, wondering exactly that.

Apparently Romney turned down a Florida debate, so I expect that to be an issue.

I have no idea what the SoFla group think about these clowns, because I’m mired in Fundistan. Governor Fraudster has declined to endorse anyone. I assume the business interests will go with Romney, but there is no telling what the Cubans will do.

Four years ago there were signs everywhere, but I haven’t seen a single sign. Early voting is starting, and there doesn’t seem to be any political activity. It’s very strange, almost like no one expected this to be important.

With no real political activity, and no initiatives on the ballot, this could be a no turnout election.
