What Is The Point?
Why does anyone bother with the Democratic Party? With the Presidency and Congress in their hands for two years, they produced nothing that mattered to Democratic voters. The major output of Zero’s first two years in office with a Democratic Congress was a block of excuses.
The ‘Democratic’ President has consistently advocated cutting Social Security and Medicare – the Party’s biggest achievement.
The Senate Democrats refused to reform the rules that would have ended the Republican obstructionism, and so laws supported by 9 out of 10 Americans can’t even get a vote. Why bother having control of the Senate if the Democrats won’t do anything?
If they aren’t going to represent you, why do you vote for them?

“The major output … was a block of excuses.”
And Zero is the block head. He’s not the only offender, though: Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi have a lot to answer for, IMHO, especially Reid, who is doing nothing to reform the “filibuster” rules. (I wonder, if a member of the Senate from 100 years ago were suddenly transported to today’s Senate, if s/he would even recognize today’s rule-based trick as a filibuster. It’s too easy. Make the bastards stand up and speak.)
If you just insisted that they actually debated, spoke to the issue at hand, you would stop most of them cold. They don’t have any reason for opposing other than to oppose.
The whole purpose of the procedure was to give everyone a right to be heard, not to simply block legislation. It has outlived its usefulness and is being abused. The Democrats should just invoke the ‘nuclear option’ and get on with the business of government. There is no ‘comity’ left in the Senate, so let’s stop sacrificing at that alter.
What? Oh, you said “comITY,” not “comEDY.” There’s certainly more of the latter than the former in the Senate, if you don’t object to an endless stream of sick jokes.
The Senate has become a ‘community’ mental health center for millionaires.
I have never bought a weapon at a gun show for one very important reason – in addition to the lack of background checks for buyers, you have no way of knowing if the weapon being sold isn’t stolen, or used in a crime.
If you are caught with a ‘hot’ gun, you are the one who is going to have to explain, not some guy at the gun show who only accepts cash to avoid any ‘tax problems’.
