I’m Still Here
But I don’t get a lot of keyboard time anymore. Things are changing and I’m spending more time dealing with the changes. One of the changes is spending long stretches in a darkened environment where I can’t really type, although I can read.
I expect some relief to show up shortly, but I’m not sure how useful they can really be without a lot of training. This is a marathon, not a sprint, so you have to pace yourself or burn out.
If you leave a comment I will get to it, but it won’t be quickly.

No worries my fried. 🙂 We understand! You do what you need to do m8! Priorities… 😉
We’ll be here if you need us. Take care, and DON’T STRESS! 😀
PS. I just got a back-lit KB & mouse because I prefer working in the dark. The screen is easier on my eyes because I can lower the brightness. 🙂
The problem is that I am using the laptop, and don’t have room for a separate keyboard or I would use a backlit. You adapt and see if you really remeber how to touch-type. 😉
We suddenly hit end stage and a lot of things have to be done.
Having walked that walk, we understand things you have to deal with. Hugs and sending good thoughts.
Having encountered that dark laptop keyboard problem in darkened airplanes on long distance trips, I have resolved to only buy laptops with lighted keyboards. Not that this helps you now :(.
Been there, experienced that as my mother declined in her last years. Laptops were brand new then; it wasn’t easy (at first it wasn’t possible) to find one on which a developer could effectively code and test apps. Over time, that changed. Hang in there, Bryan.
(I agree w/BadTux about the backlighted keyboard. I am seriously considering one of the low-to-mid-priced models of System 76.)
There is another option… 🙂
A few years ago, I bought a couple USB LED lights that used a long stainless steel goose-neck, and a clip (I got them for a friend who had a similar problem. I forgot until last night actually, else I would have suggested it above). They are pretty good, and cost about $10. 🙂
Yeah, I understand about all the things that suddenly have to be done. I know you’ll make it! 🙂 All I can do is send good thoughts… Be well.
I have a little LED gooseneck, but I can’t position it so it doesn’t glare on the screen when it lights the keyboard. A lighted keyboard is the answer. If I get another one it will have that feature.
Trying to type on aircraft is not good for your eyes, Badtux. I did it for years on a position that was designed for typing, and the vibrations is always there.
Those look like some really nice boxes, Steve. You really need one, and they aren’t as expensive as I assumed they would be.
Thanks, for the kind thoughts, Ellroon et al.
I remember that time with my mother as well. So sorry you’re having to travel that road. Thoughts are with you.
Thank you, Juanita.
