"There are two novels that can change a bookish 14-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs."

seems to be quite a bit smarter than most of my lot.
Ms Underhouse has taught her well, and my neighbor has been working later than he normally does, so the food is late. Normally he puts out food before I do.
In Our House, Esther has taken up residence atop a 7-foot mission bookcase, to which she ascends by first leaping on a bar and slipping behind the TV. It is certainly nice of her to “adjust” our indoor antenna (current-day equivalent of rabbit ears)… in that task, her results are not significantly inferior to mine or Stella’s, especially when the weather is bad.
The kit is a lovely creature!
Cats do like high places, although Esther seems to have developed a fondest for your lap. Neither of my current roommates enjoys a lap.
My first feline roommate was helpful in dusting ceiling light fixtures from the top of doors, but Koshka was a bit of a showoff.
