Le Tour 2014 – Stage 21 et fini
Distance: 137.5 kilometers.
The final stage, which, by gentlemen’s agreement features no attacks, but a group sprint on the nineth and final circuit on the Champs Élysées. It becomes a parade of the survivors of the race that preceded it.
Giant Shimano provided the bookends: Marcel Kittel won the final stage and Cheng Ji carried La Lanterne Rouge [Red Lantern] as the last rider to finish.
There were no major surprises at the end of a Tour filled with crashes, injuries, illness, and flat tires. Most of these riders will now prepare for the Vuelta a España that starts on August 23rd.
