The Cold
Unlike sled dogs, cats do not like the cold, and stay in hiding in a warmer place. Maybe tomorrow someone will wander into camera range when it’s warm enough for me to be outside.
A couple of days ago the high for the day occurred just after midnight and the temperature went down all day. Today it looks like the high will be just before midnight, as the temperature has continued to rise after the sun went down.

It was 74F today here in the Silly Cone Valley. Which is not the correct temperature for March here, it’s supposed to be in the upper 50’s/lower 60’s in the daytime, lower 40’s at night!
“Supposed to be” doesn’t mean much any more. We can’t reverse the change we have started in the atmosphere, we can only slow the trend as the atmosphere decides what the new normal will be.
My flowers are blooming. In mid February. It’s… unnatural. SIGH.
I have 70s today, but they aren’t forecast to be around long. Mobile broke the low record for three days last week. You don’t know what to wear. The plants don’t know what to do. The roses are totally confused.
I’m buying a propane heater before next winter, if I can get one.
what are you complaining about???? we didn’t have three consecutive days of everyone being iced in this winter, you ungrateful wretches!!!
I am personally complaining about the fact that you can’t buy suitable clothing for the temperatures locally, but have to buy them over the ‘Net and hope the warehouse isn’t snowed in and the roads out of the snow belt have been plowed.
When I lived in the snow belt I was warmer than I am down here. When it got down to -20 my apartment was still above 70 inside. I’m complaining about the fact that I am spending more and getting less during our winter, than when I lived in New York.
