Only In America
Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding. Proverbs 17:28
That verse is often rendered: “Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.” This is not the guide used by the participants of Fox’s two new reality pilots being aired this Thursday – Five Losers and Ten Shades of Stupid.
The network must be really desperate to fill air time to create this waste of bandwidth. Nothing remotely useful to voters is going to come out of it, but the media will watch – looking for sound bites.
If you are waiting for me to critique these shows, don’t hold your breath. I couldn’t care less about them.

When I read the lead-in for you post, I just assumed it would be about Trump (and his lack of ability to keep his mouth shut).
It slipped my mind that we have a host of stupid losers to select from.
They should run those old anti-drug PSAs during these shows – “This is your brain on Drugs…” 😈
It’s like a train wreck in progress. You may have the self-control to avoid watching it, Bryan, but I have a sad feeling I will turn on my television for the first time in years just to watch the railroad cars smashing into one another and the contents of the freight cars fly all over. Let’s just hope that Fox hasn’t sold rebroadcast rights outside of the United States. Now *that* would be a national embarrassment!
Based on what happened to the media moguls on Wall Street today, they will be attempting to sell content to everyone.
If I wanted to watch a debate, they are having one in Canada that will actually be a debate by people who all know how to debate. I will have to check to see if the debate will be in English or French, rather than noting whether it will be English or Gibberish. 😈
What do you have against authentic frontier gibberish, Bryan? 😉
Nothing if it is actually authentic and not a suggestion by a “consultant” …
Well darn, I was busy at work and I missed the train wreck. Probably for the best, I’m sure my head feels better for not having all that face palming going on…
Apparently the biggest hit on Twitter came from the JV game where Rick Perry said ‘Ronald Raven’ vice Ronald Reagan… With the end of the John Stewart’s reign on The Daily Show, I will probably check to see what Charlie Pierce has to say.
