The only competition for coverage of the Pope’s visit to the US was the announcement that US Speaker John Boehner is to leave Congress. Rather than retiring by not not running again, Boehner is resigning effective the end of October. As there is once again a threat by the whackoes to shut down the government, Boehner is probably fed up with trying to get anything done.

Oh my. Your little weepy dude has me laughing so hard I’m cryin’ :). Yeah, either Weepy has had enough, or it’s about to come out that he had sex with a dead girl or a live boy. Either way, he’s had enough. Unfortunately what this means is that the Teabillies will take over, one way or another, and do their Teabilly thing. Which will probably elect a lot of Democrats during the next election cycle, but oh my, is this going to be a mess….
Dog only knows how bad this is going to get. The Teabillies don’t have a majority in the GOP caucus, but they can certainly block anything that annoys them. It isn’t certain that they can find someone who will get as many votes as Nancy Pelosi for Speaker.
