Long Range Winter Forecast
NOAA released its long range prediction: Strong El Niño sets the stage for 2015-2016 winter weather
Forecasters at NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center issued the U.S. Winter Outlook today favoring cooler and wetter weather in Southern Tier states with above-average temperatures most likely in the West and across the Northern Tier. This year’s El Niño, among the strongest on record, is expected to influence weather and climate patterns this winter by impacting the position of the Pacific jet stream.
It looks like the Northeast is going to get a break after last year’s snowocalypse.

We just experienced our first frost of the year this week. Yep, winter is on the way. Not my favorite season, sigh…
I’d be grateful if we didn’t have the -10 degree temps we had for several nights last winter.
You’re sitting on the border, so you could could get a warmer or colder winter that will be either wetter or dryer. I’ll hope for warmer.
You and me both!
Looks like mine will be cooler and wetter than normal.
