Currently about 175 miles [ 280 km] North-Northeast of the Northeastern Bahamas.

iirc, it was hurricane kate (landfall somewhere in the panhandle, sometime in mid-november) that got hurricane season officially extended to the end of November.

That was back in 1985 and it came ashore around Panama City. This one looks like it is ready to recurve and go out to sea.
