According to the Gävlebocken webcam the Goat made it to Christmas unmolested.

Locally it has been in the 70s with fog. Despite the fog there are a lot of boats out and about because it isn’t raining, as it has been for all too much of this year.

80F and 100% humidity here in Houston/Baytown, occasionally spitting mist or light rain.

My roses are totally confused; the pear trees are still green … not much is making sense in terms of averages. The El Niño seems to be doing its thing and the polar vortex is staying stable. Good news for utility bills, bad news for Eastern ski resorts.

And just checked the weather back home in Santa Clara and it’s a *freeze warning*. Eep! While not unexpected at this time of year, the disparity between there and here on the Gulf Coast is decidedly striking!

This may be the first time since records have been kept that New York City is not going to have a temperature at or below freezing in the month of December.

All we need down here is a wind off the Gulf to keep us warm.
