The CBC report: Leader of armed Oregon standoff arrested, 1 person dead
One person was killed when federal authorities arrested the leader of an armed occupation at a wildlife refuge in Oregon and several of his companions during a traffic stop on Tuesday, law enforcement sources said.
Another person was injured, police said.
It was not immediately clear if other armed individuals remained occupying the remote Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in eastern Oregon or if Ammon Bundy’s arrest had ended the standoff, which began on Jan. 2.
It is about time they got rid of this blight. Public land belongs to the public, not small groups of armed whackoes.

What took ’em so long?
As near as I can tell, they seemed to think that this would be over in a week. I think the local sheriff, environmental groups, and the state authorities really started complaining about them and put pressure on the Feds to do something.
Tarp Man apparently decided to be a hero and got shot to death for his trouble. The derpy Bundy brother decided he was going to be a hero, but once Tarp Man got shot and a bullet went through his arm decided not so much and surrendered. Everybody else surrendered right off, as they should have once it started raining cops with AR-15’s with live rounds pointed at them.
Now we get to see what happens next. Will the militia kooks decide that this is their time to start their war against the Federal government? I doubt it. But who knows.
According to the local sheriff they announced the road blocks and but up signs miles before them, so the klowns weren’t surprised. They decided to challenge a whole lot of police in uniforms with marked cars and lost. The media and anyone interested saw that authorities gave the kooks a way out, but the ‘patriots’ decided to be macho and became nachos… 😈
