Is that three, or four tropical storms all at the same time?! Dang, pretty darn energetic down there! Not like my cat, which is being a total failure at catching a rat…
But if TMF started to energetically chased a rat it might disturb the gloss on his coat 🙂
Given what the wind shear has been like over the Atlantic it is rather amazing that so many of the waves coming off of Africa have managed to become tropical.
The Pacific Coast has been twice as energetic with 6 hurricanes including two that hit Baja and sent rain into Arizona and New Mexico.
He was energetic enough when the rat was in his sight, but inept. And once the rat disappeared behind the refrigerator he decided that was enough exercise for the day, and walked away, got back on his heated cat bed, and went to sleep again.
Cats are a bit far-sighted normally and pretty wothless if the target isn’t making noise or moving. Sox almost always overshot his target by using too much force when jumping. Dot, OTOH, was a talented assassin – offing her victim before the creature knew there was a threat.
Update: If you bought him a harness with some weights on it, yhe might have knocked the rat out to be finished off later. Of course he might take out something that you want to keep. There are always trade offs…

yep. mine can only see the very tops of the floor-to-ceiling bookcases whenever there’s an invading critter in the house.
They are like some of my friends who ‘absolutely don’t need reading glasses’ – just arms that are a foot longer…
