There are over a million people without power in Florida, and the 4-foot+ surge isn’t make life easier. Matthew is going to take years to recover from and the name will be retired.

Norwegians laugh at new fence on Russian border. The government is putting up a a large metal fence at a border crossing between Norway and Russia in the middle of nowhere.

UK Government bars foreign academics from advising on Brexit, for a given definition of ‘foreign’. Apparently there are reports that the UK government is reaching out to the governments of Canada, Australia, and New Zealand at the same time it is telling professors at the London School of Economics who are not UK citizens that they can’t work on the Brexit issues. The exclusion may violate British law.
