Stuff You Learn
Did you know that the official Twitter account of Sweden is curated by a different Swedish citizen every week? The curators are nominated and then contacted to see if they want to do it. This is the last night for a school librarian named Emma who has been dealing with a flood of tweets due to SCROTUS repeating fake news from Faux News at his campaign rally/one-man show staged at taxpayer expense in Florida.
Sweden to Trump: What happened last night?
The hashtag #lastnightinSweden was soon trending on Twitter, and the Swedish embassy in Washington has asked the State Department for clarification.
···
Some people suggest Donald Trump might have been referring to a clip aired on Fox News on Friday night of a documentary about alleged violence committed by refugees in Sweden.
···@sweden/Emma: No. Nothing has happened here in Sweden. There has not been any terrorist attacks here. At all. The main news right now is about Melfest.
Because she is a librarian, she was provoked into sending @realDonaldTrump a ‘shhhhhh’ tweet. Former Swedish Prime Minister Carl Bildt wondered “what has he been smoking?”
Melfest, a shortened version of Melody Festival, is the system used by Sweden to select their candidate for the Eurovision Song Contest, which they take seriously.
You should scan the stream as Emma becomes a media celebrity with radio and TV interviews all day along with keeping up with Twitter and a small child.
You can hear Emma Johansson’s interview on the BBC Newshour.
Update via Kryten in comments, The Brisbane Times: The Swedish terror that only Donald Trump was brave enough to call out. This includes the important “humiliating tragedy for the proud bull moose of Skellefteå” that I was unable to verify in my post…

Trump thought he heard something about ISIS in Sweden, when what he actually heard was IKEA.
No survivors of the Bowling Green Massacre were involved in the Incident in Sweden, thankfully. Always forget. Never remember. Our prayers and condolences are with the survivors of these horrifying events.
There were a lot of condolences from people who weren’t killed in the Bowling Green Massacre for those not killed in the Swedish … um … event? Fortunately the moose seems to to have survived unsplintered , so we can be thankful for that.
The story of the poor lovesick moose was reported in Aftonbladet (in English because they understand that nobody on Trumpers staff speaks anything other than English & Russian) 😉 😆
In English: This happened in Sweden Friday night, Mr President
😆
Meant to mention, in case you hadn’t seen it, some good news: Milo Yanapopulusis resigned from Breitbart yesterday! Yayyy! One down… 😉
And Varizon is buying Yahoo. Apparently at a much reduced price. *shrug* Yahoo was crap for years anyway.
The moose thing was a bit odd, because that’s a story for the Fall, the rutting season, when moose are even more psychotic than usual, a pretty high bar. I was concerned that they were expanding their period of maximum insanity.
Down here the problem is bull alligators in the spring. Those fools get noisy and don’t seem to understand the houses don’t move. They head for water which can be a swimming pool, and they tend not notice things in the way.
Another victim of old Youtube clips. If you are going to go for fame and fortune, you have to be careful what you post. He walks away with a $250K advance from Simon & Schuster for a book they won’t touch now. He should use the money for a vacation in South Florida from April to June 👿
Yahoo is irrelevant. Verizon should spend their cash on improving their services, but let them rest in peace and stop taking up pixels.
Yahoo owns Flickr, which is definitely *not* irrelevant in the photography world. Everything else they have is irrelevant, but that definitely isn’t.
Been watching the Milo fallout all day. Julian Assange poked his head up out of his Ecuadorian bunker and grumped that liberals were celebrating censorship. Uhm, no. Censorship is done by the government. CPAC and Breitbart exercising their freedom of association and choosing not to associate is not censorship, because Milo is still free to say anything he wants to say. Just not at CPAC or on Breitbart dot com, who have exercised their freedom of association to not associate with Milo.
I’m waiting for SCROTUS to complain about what CPAC and Breitbart did to poor Milo the way he did when Beserkeley cancelled Milo’s speaking engagement. Milo can launch his own web site and use Youtube, so he can ‘speak’ all he wants about molesting children. Maybe some of the people that he roused about ‘pizzagate’ can help him out…
Apparently, this is the real story on why Milo’s racist/bigoted/homophobic/petulant/trolling/etc, etc. career was ended! 😆
Exclusive: Meet @ReaganBattalion, the anonymous squadron that destroyed Milo’s career
Basically, a small group of Republican moderate-extremists (?) decided Milo & others are too extreme! 😆
This is the ‘Republican Establishment’ trying to enforce their agenda on elected Republicans. They feel they are “entitled” to tell the government what to do, and punish Repubs who don’t toe the line.
Just different spoiled brats than the one in the White House having enough money to throw tantrums that can hurt people they don’t like. Let them fight with Trump. He will probably fight back, sic the FBI or IRS on them or something.
The republican voters are finally waking up! As an example, this YT vid of Sen. Tom Cotton (R AK) Town Hall meeting that was packed to capacity. Even a 7 YO was annoyed! 😀
Angry Constituents Confront Sen. Tom Cotton At Arkansas Town Hall
If this was the 18th Century, I think Cotton would hanging from a tree.
There are several other Town Hall vid’s essentially the same. All packed with republican voters, all pissed. Better late than never I suppose. *shrug*
It was fun to see the reality that a 7-year-old wasn’t interested in trading PBS Kids for a wall along the Mexican border. There is no way to build an effective barrier. I had an inside view at the planning stage of the barrier on Otay Mesa in Southern California which blocked access to the Tijuana Airport from the US through the tomato field. [People would park on the US side and walk through a field to get to the airport for flights to Central and South America that were much cheaper than US flights]. The ‘official border crossing was miles away and you could get hung up trying to clear it and making your flight.
It annoyed Americans who wanted cheap flights, but had minimal impact on unauthorized border crossings. Millions of dollars wasted in construction costs, and millions more in staffing costs. A waste of time and money.
