Happy Festivus
Yes, today is the celebration of the very untraditional Festivus.
If you celebrate I hope all of your grievances were aired and the airing did not involve the Festivus pole being used in an inappropriate fashion.

"Das war ein Vorspiel nur, dort wo man Bücher verbrennt, verbrennt man auch am Ende Menschen."
"Все счастливые семьи похожи друг на друга, каждая несчастливая семья несчастлива по-своему."

"A person who has a cat by the tail knows a whole lot more about cats than someone who has just read about them."
Mark Twain
"There are two novels that can change a bookish 14-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs."
"The presence of those seeking the truth is infinitely to be preferred to the presence of those who think they've found it."

I air my grievances regularly because they get moldy and smelly if they are locked away, but it’s nice to know there’s a holiday specifically dedicated to the airing of grievances (amongst other things).
Some things were just meant to be, reality demanded their existence, and Festivus was born. I would note that a lot of grievances are also aired on December 26.
I’m glad to see that you are adjusting to The Mighty Fang’s condition. Old White Lady went through the same situation, as did my neighbor who put his cats out on ropes. It sounds like you are on the right path.
Yah, TMF is doing better than me still though. Even when I managed to mis-step and tore a slit in the edge of his ear, he was less freaked out about it than me (I did remember to get a sip of blood for the glucose meter before using the gauze to staunch it though!). He didn’t even stop purring waiting for his treats that he knows happen after I do the indignity of messing with his ears. And this business of getting up early on holidays and weekends really sucks. But that’s okay, he gives me plenty of purrs and cuddles so …
Yeah, I’m about healed from the last time I stroked CC. She loved it for a specified period and then turned into her alter ego – maniac slasher cat. .Regardless, you have to do it. It’s like sleeping on the floor after your cat comes back from the vet and is still spaced out from anesthesia. If you don’t sleep on the floor they could injure themselves jumping up on the bed.
