I’m Still Alive
But I’m not convinced it is a good thing.
I have been attacked by a miserable cold since last Saturday. I gave up on tissues and am using paper towels to absorb the muck. I need to do things, but I don’t have confidence in my ability to drive while sneezing violently.
I am reading, but question my ability to generate a coherent sentence.
Update: My flu shot did not cover the flu I got. The doctor told me that the $80 worth of Tamiflu will probably have little or no effect. 🙁
The local hospital has the drill down for the flu. I walked through the door and spelled my last name and provided my date of birth and they had me in a mask and in an isolation area almost immediately.

Get s anti-histamine to stop your post nasal drip. That’s how the infection moves into your lungs. I used Metamucil for my cold and manage to contain It to my head. Paper towels? yuck. a roll of toilet paper goes a lo0ng way and doesn’t grind the node off.
Now, for something completely different. The launch of Falcon heavy was impressive but not as much as Saturn V. But the landing! Wow. I thought I was seeing live science fiction.
Being reusable makes the Falcon system uch cheaper than a Saturn 5 or any other heavy lift vehicle, Now it needs to be refurbished and relaunched a few more times.
Sorry to hear that Bryan m8! As you know, I get colds often (the buggers love my suppressed immune system)! yeah, a good anti-histamine & lot’s of Vit. C, garlic, aspirin & fluids do wonders! I found Polaramine to work best for me. Get better soon!
The Falcon heavy is a wonder. Will cost 10% of what it cost to lift a heavy payload ($40 mill vs $400 mill). Now there is a debate raging about the vehicles not actually being owned by SpaceX in spite of the fact they financed & built them! Something to do with the space treaty the USA signed. *shrug* Like to see that one in Court! 😆
yep, paper towels are the only way to go for colds and allergies – just remember that brawny paper towels are made by a Koch-owned company.
I use Viva select-a-size for all my nasal congestion needs. What I didn’t need was the 5+ inches of rain that we have been having which is doing nothing good for Mardi Gras weekend.
I’m slowly shifting back to solid food which is helping with my general condition.
So sorry to hear you’re under the weather. At least your local hospital was prepared for it all. Get well soon.
My life has been tied up the past few weeks, but changes may be coming…
Nobody was actually ready for this, and the season hasn’t peaked. I transition from the flu to bronchitis, anitvirals to antibiotics
