Figures Of Speech

Insults have been in the news lately. Vox , and others, have noted that The NY Times published a list of people Trump has insulted on Twitter during the campaign.

CNN’s Don Lemon has a list of Trump’s racist history which may be behind his lack of a direct comment about what Roseanne Barr tweeted.

Samantha Bee made a mistake. As a Canadian educated adult she used an Elizabethan adjective with a synecdoche enhanced by dysphemism to make her point. The problem was she did not have a whistle, a clipboard, and some wall lockers for cover. Everything said in “a locker room” is apparently beyond criticism. What she said was harsh and shocking, but not as harsh or shocking as having your children taken away when you are applying for asylum in a supposedly civilized country.

This isn’t about Donald Trump defending his daughter. Trump didn’t suggest that Howard Stern be fired for his no class comment about Ivanka in a radio interview. Trump was attacking a critic, as he always does.

Agree! And love your Samantha Bee allegory!👍🏾👏🏾😂

I’m trying to help a group get the numbers for an important petition via the ACLU. If anyone can help, please do.

Stop The Government From Abusing Immigrant Children

I guarantee that no one at the White House knows what feckless means. Give me a break – the name of the show is “Full Frontal” so you have fair warning not to watch if you are easily offended. Sam is fond of Anglo-Saxon words as well as Elizabethan so deal with it or don’t watch.

I know that what Sessions has ordered done regarding the children of asylum seekers violates international law and civilized norms. In addition to Trump, Sessions is among the Cabinet Secretaries who need to be impeached.

The countries attacked by Trump’s tariffs should respond by attacking Trump’s properties and business interests. If Scotland shuts down the Trump golf course, that will wake him up.

A group of us are trying to get #Plank4President trending on twitter & also #WalkThePlank for POTUS. Been less than 24 hours & it’s going great! I just hope the moron-in-chief see’s it!

It stared with this tweet by MSNBC about a 9 YO Boy Andrew Emery, held a lemonade stand, and raised nearly $6,000 in 2 hours to help his parents pay for medical bills after his baby brother Dylan was diagnosed with a rare and terminal neurological condition.

(If you have a look, just scroll down a bit to see the start)

The thread has struck a chord & sparked anger that the kid even had to do this to help his Brother & more anger toward Dotard & co because of it. 🙂 Andrew also shows he’s a much better businessman than Dotard too! The kid would make a great POTUS!

Story is here:
Nine year old raises thousands of dollars at lemonade stand to help pay brother’s medical bills

There are some real losers on that thread. The Trumpovichi really need to up their game and take some English classes.

We used ‘Google bombs’ in olen times to annoy the Shrubbery and other select GOPers, but Google put a stop to it. I avoid Twitter and Facebook. I can find my own sources of annoyance. 😉

Yeah… You might have noticed that many of the RWNJ are cowards like their fearful leader. The one I replied to blocked me & deleted his tweet. Others in the thread did the same. They usually do. I take a screencap just in case. If they are particularly nasty, they usually have other nasty tweets. So I report them & get others in one of the groups I’m in to do the same. They typically have their account deleted & get a life ban. Just have to show 5 tweets against the rules. 😉 🙂 It’s too easy really. Wish we could get rid of Dotard that easily. Though, even he’s in trouble. He & other GOP’s have been blocking American’t who tweet with legitimate questions they don’t like. Which is against the Constitution & Gov. rules of course.

C&L just posted this story. Wouldn’t it be illegal to bar a Senator from entering the Detention Center?

Sen. Jeff Merkley Denied Entry To Secret ICE Child Detention Center

ON the subject of Dotard… DKos had this:
Over the weekend, Trump declared an autocracy

Twitter won’t ban him because of “public interest”. A court has ruled that he may ‘mute’ people he doesn’t want to hear from, but can’t ‘block’ them because his feed is a source of public contact. He, of course, does whatever he wants without regard to courts, laws, regulations, or custom. I think that in the interest of national security, Twitter should shut down his account, but he would sic every agancy in the government on them if Twitter did that.

It is not illegal to bar Senator Merkley, but it is politically brain-dead and will generate Senate hearings. The Republicans had better hope they can hold on to the Senate or the Trump administration will be over in January of 2019. Even without impeachment, a Democratic Congress will make Trump’s life miserable.
