Not Again
It is being reported that Jim Jordan, the Republican Congresscreep from Ohio who doesn’t, apparently, own a sport coat or suit jacket wants to run for Speaker of the House. We have had our fill of Congresscreeps from the Midwest who were school wrestling coaches. One Dennis Hastert is more than sufficient for a lifetime.
FYI, Jim, impeachment requires “high crimes or misdemeanors”, not whatever you don’t like. Wait until after the midterms and the new Congress may show you how it’s done.

*cough*
My husband, “The Professor,” is currently running for Congress (NH2), and he doesn’t own a suit or sport jacket. However, he’s not a Republican (he’s a non-party “alternative” but is sort of a democrat.) He’s retired, formerly a project manager in a manufacturing setting.
I think his first project is going to be instituting Casual Friday in the House….
And yes, I’m serious….

Good for him. He doesn’t look like someone who is pretending to be something he isn’t. After too many years wearing ties with uniforms, I stopped the entire fraudulent dress code when I went into computers. Well, OK, I wore a blue oxford cloth button-down shirt with chinos, which were the informal uniform of the California computer guys, but no ties.
Been a lot of discussion on Twitter about Jordan & his pal’s. None of it positive. 👎🏾🤬
I tweeted your Husband’s link Anya and shared with my fellow resistance groups: #GeeksResist #HeroesResist #TheResistance #Resistance #VetsAgainstTrump #VetsResistSquadron
Hopefully it will help him. I like what i saw. He’s an extremely unusual candidate… he makes sense! 👍🏾😊
Seen this latest travesty of *Justice*? A 6-YO girl was forced to sign a statement that she understood it was her responsibility!🤬🤬🤬
A 6-Year-Old Girl Was Sexually Abused in an Immigrant-Detention Center
This is the sort of things that happen at all youth detention facilities. None of these facilities properly vet their staffs, and they don’t pay enough to get trained people qualified to deal with the children in their custody. Many of them have juvenile delinquents referred by courts as well as asylum seekers. It sucks and lacks the stability of the state owned and operated facilities. It’s another failure of ‘privatization’.
The Professor thanks you very much, Kryten!
Other people think he makes sense, too; out of the hundreds of people he’s spoken to personally, only three have no use for his platform: the woman who equates politics with porn, the lady who regards a third party vote as wasted, and the woman who worships Trump.
Politics is no where near as socially redeeming as porn. Bernie Sanders, Senator of Vermont and Angus King, Senator of Maine seem to be doing all right as ‘third party’ candidates. People who worship Trump need to wear rubber soled shoes to avoid lightning strikes – I don’t believe Trump is on the approved list of deities.
With my track record, I would hate to curse The Professor with an endorsement. People should keep in mind that only 25% of registered voters are Republicans, so third parties are relevant in many areas. 😈
No problem at all Anya! I’ve tried to help several new candidates in the USA that showed true compassion, humanity & understanding. I share them with the above mentioned groups that are growing quite large. Several of those supported have won in their election bids. Since the two parties here in Australia are proving to be completely evil (LNP) & the lesser evil (ALP) and there’s little I can do about that… I’ll try to help my American friends!
“I don’t believe Trump is on the approved list of deities” Most sane people don’t. Unfortunately for America, his supporters don’t meet that criteria at all! I tweeted a while ago that “If Trump told his base that the sky was gold & the clouds were iridescent orange images of Him, they would believe it in spite of all evidence to the contrary! Hell, he could sell them glasses (made in China of course) that had that image on them & he’d make a killing!” Someone relied that i shouldn’t give the fool idea’s. He has enough bad & stupid ones already. I replied that he’s blocked me, so it’s safe. 😆
Regarding “made in China”:
Trump reelection campaign denies reports ‘Keep America Great’ flags are being made in China
In NH, the Independents actually have their own Party; people without a party affiliation are “Undeclared.” There are an awful lot of undeclared folks here for some reason, probably because the campaign season starts so early (say, 16 months before the primaries) and they can’t stand all the phone calls and junk mail….
Then, there are the wags who are registered as Undeclared all year long, re-register at the polls as Republicans (usually) in order to vote for the Least Weevil in the Republican primary, then promptly get back in line to re-register again as Undeclared.
Hooray for same day registration!
Repubs must really hate that since the Undeclared are not a reliable voting block.
All of the schlock trinkets that Trump Inc hustles are made by children and prisoners in Asia to cut the cost to a minimum. His steaks probably started out as mustangs [brumbies] on Federal lands in the West. Trump’s biggest expense is for the faux-gold paint he uses on everything.
BTW, a US Federal court has ruled that he can’t block people on Twitter because his account is an official government media outlet. He can stop seeing what you tweet, but it has to be part of the public record.
I’m not an American citizen, so that ruling doesn’t apply to me or anyone outside the USA. The arse-kissers who manage his T account block many outside the USA so he doesn’t get upset by all the negative people. I know some have changed their Country registration on T to the USA so they can annoy him. *shrug* 😆
You can’t really annoy him as it is well established that he doesn’t read anything that isn’t forced on him. Now that tweets have expanded to 280 characters he is definitely in TLDR mode. 😈
