Twitter & The Twits
Twitter has been removing fake accounts making Trump and “conservatives” unhappy about lost followers. They removed millions of obviously fake accounts in 2018, and followed up in 2019 removing fake accounts tied to Russia, Iran, and Venezuela.
Twitter would like to remove white supremacist accounts, but the algorithms keep targeting Republican and/or “conservative” politicians, for some reason. 😈

Twitter has had a considerable percentage being controlled by Sudi interests since 2011. Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud is now the 2nd largest Shareholder in Twitter, more than CEO Jack Dorsey. Other’s in SA also own shares, mostly through proxies, so nobody seems to know exactly how much of Twitter SA owns. SA accounts for about 40% of Twitter users, so it’s understandable. The Prince has also been slowly increasing his original stake of 3% since 2011.

The past 6 Months or so, twitter appears to have made a concerted effort to silence critics of Trump. Many accounts critical of him have been *shadow* banned and many other tweets have mysteriously been immediately deleted without any reason given (I did a series of tests and found that it was keyword based). However, I cannot say it was deliberate. T support has been overwhelmed the past two years with millions of complaints of inappropriate tweets etc. So, they tried to create an “expert system” (many erroneously refer to as an AI) to help cope. A month ago, I had a few tweets suddenly vanish that had the words “terrorist” or “terrorism” and “RWNJ” or “Trump” or Dotard” or “GOP” removed. So, I replaced “o/O” with * and that *fixed* it.

They are being threatened by every government in the civilized world for “aiding in the dissemination of terrorist propaganda”, so they are attempting to moderate with algorithms and black lists, instead of hiring people.
They will be swinging wildly until they can discover a point where everyone is being somewhat equally pissed with them.
This is the pink ribbon effect. The pink ribbon is the symbol of breast cancer. Every time there is an attack on porn on the Internet, breast cancer sites are among the first to get shut down.

this is actually why I quit using twitter. I do still miss it (the good old days of it, anyway), but since it appears to have turned into quite the cesspool since then, I guess I’m glad I’ve disconnected. I think…. 🙁
It always seemed ‘tribal’ to me, with groups in verbal combat rather than conversations. I do wonder if they are going to enforce their terms of service when Trump leaves office and ban him…
