In good news for Florida the forecast track at 4AM CDT shows the turn to the North occurring further to the East, off shore. The track has been shifting about every 12 hours.

At 10AM CDT Florida is looking like it might have “dodged the bullet” of a powerful hurricane as the track continues to move to the East.

At 1PM Dorian became a Category 3, a major hurricane. The current tracking has it passing over the Northern Bahamas and making landfall on the Florida Peninsula East of Lake Okeechobee. Once ashore the current tracking has the storm taking a right turn to parallel I-95. Given the “king tides”, up to a 12-foot surge topped by storm-tossed breakers, and a prodigious amount of rain, there is an almost certain chance of major flooding along the corridor.
