Property and Excise are 13 today.
Tax Day has been moved to July 15th but here’s the theme music for the day on YouTube.
"It's better to be six feet apart right now than six feet under."
Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer
"Blognito ergo sum!"
"Caedite eos! Novit enim Dominus qui sunt eius."
"Das war ein Vorspiel nur, dort wo man Bücher verbrennt, verbrennt man auch am Ende Menschen."
"Все счастливые семьи похожи друг на друга, каждая несчастливая семья несчастлива по-своему."
"Кто что ни говори, а подобные происшествия бывают на свете, - редко, но бывают."
"A person who has a cat by the tail knows a whole lot more about cats than someone who has just read about them."
Mark Twain
"There are two novels that can change a bookish 14-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs."
"The presence of those seeking the truth is infinitely to be preferred to the presence of those who think they've found it."

Sigh. I remember the first time you had that picture on the blog. And when Income died. And when Dot died.
And I remember my boys George and Tux dying too, which is why I have another pair of cats now. I guess we’re just getting old.
SIGH.

That would make Koshka 13, also (Apr. 4), and Kaylee is 6-8 months older. Both are cranky old ladies now.
Wow! I remember them as kittens Bryan. I also still remember my first kitten I rescued from a building site as a boy. And how I cried years later when she died. I wished cat’s & dogs had much longer life spans. But I learned to make the most of the time they had. And they give what they get. For all those awesome kitties we’ve lost:
Ode To Cats
by Shannon Karbousky
They say quiet as a mouse,
But don’t let them fool you.
Light on their feet,
Able to pounce without notice.
Sleek and regal,
Fluffy and stout.
A rainbow of colors,
An array of personalities and moods.
Curled up on the heater,
Batting the fringe on the lampshade.
Licking the cold and slippery fish tank glass,
Biting wiggly toes under the dinner table.
Cuddly touch-me-nots.
Playful recluses.
Not a charade,
But the power of preference of these
Pussycats
Who control their masters –
Puppets on a string.
What a magnificent puppet show it is!
That’s why these are my last cats, Badtux, I’m too old to start again.
Yes, Аня, your кошки will soon be бабушки.
Kryten, at least you know it going in. The pain of the loss is still there, but not as bad as the loss of Income, for instance, whose death was so unexpected at a very young age.
I said that Tux and George would be my last pair of cats too. But now I have Chuck and T’Challah. One just showed up on my patio and refused to go away, the other grabbed my hand and guided it to his head to pet him and then started licking me. What can ya do?
Being owned by cats is another thing for which there is no vaccine or immunity. 😈
