Ah, Winter and the “Holidays” – the most annoying part of the year.
Trump refuses to admit he’s a loser. In just under 32 days he will lose his access to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and military aircraft (the Bureau of Prisons and Justice Departments for the Federal and state governments use charter flights). His latest claim to protect Putin is to cast aspersions on China, rather than the SVR.
Locally we are hoping to get one of the vaccines before ‘Governor DeMentis’ manages to kill us all.
I am being forced to use my big Win 10 tower as the nice little Win 7 desktop began ‘pining for the fjords’ a few days ago. The hard drive wasn’t involved in the death so I didn’t lose anything, but it’s still annoying. I’ll get another little box for the office, but it’s annoying and will delay the Raspberry Pi 400 purchase I was planning on.

yeah, i’m waiting on a computer too. when i started entering the order, it said give us $x extra and we’ll get it there < christmas 2020 and when i finished entering the order, it said expected delivery <= new years day 2021. without the extra $x they weren’t going to promise anything before about valentines day, or maybe it was st patricks day…

lol, i doubt putin cares one whit about that, though trump may fear that his financial situation depends on what putin is willing to give trump in exchange for the past 4 years.
Around New Years is the best ‘guess’ I got on my order. Things are still screwed at the Post Office, and all of the package companies are dealing with COVID in addition to the seasonal surge.

did i read or hear somewhere that all the living ex-presidents get the same presidential daily briefing (or something along those lines) that the actual president gets? if so, the first thing i want president biden to do, one minute after he sits down at his new desk, is to sign an executive order rescinding that.
It is a courtesy if the former President requests it. Trump won’t ask and Biden’s national security team wouldn’t agree to it even if he did.

I got my grocery delivery today for my self-Xmas treat. Mostly seafood with a couple of smoked turkey drumsticks. Unfortunately, as I pretty much expected, they were out of stock of several things I wanted, so I also ordered alternatives just in case. I got a half a lobster & the drumsticks, but no large tiger prawns or crab. I ordered the tinned alternatives, which they had. Not as good, but it will do for a seafood salad. 🤷♂️

I stripped what was useable for me and will drop the rest off at the county (shire) recycling drop off (tip). The DVD RW drive should be useable, but someone will melt the board for the gold.
If Scomo was actually somewhere that required a vest, it would have also required a helmet and wearing something other than a bright white shirt. If pols want to play in the dirt, they should learn how to dress. Otherwise just use Zoom and save money.
You should have gone for turkey thighs as there is more meat and no tendons, but the seafood sounds good. Enjoy your Christmas 🎄

A Pack of six uncooked Turkey wings @ AU$8 / kg (from 1.5 to 2 kg)
A pack of six uncooked Turkey Rissoles @ AU16.25 / kg (400g pack for $6.50)
Raw Turkey mince @ AU$20.00 / kg (500 g pack for $10)
A whole uncooked Turkey @ AU$28 / kg (sizes from 4.4 to 5.6 kg)

My Mobile phone has been dying the past few months. The display has been separating from the case. Took it to a local phone repair shop, he checked and found that a spare display is not sold separately as it has contacts along the top & bottom edges and is attached to the main board in manufacturing. So… Another new mobile. but I’m in no hurry. I just redirected the number to my landline. Just means I can’t get SMS or calls when I’m out, which I rarely am these days. 🤷♂️😒
I just finished making an old family Coleslaw. Uses red cabbage (it’s damned purple!) beetroot, ginger & various spices & marinated. 😀
that cole slaw sounds wonderful! i like to make mine with oil & vinegar dressing, but i’ve never thought about adding ginger, so i’m going to have to try that.
A fresh organic turkey at Publix supermarket is AU$4.91/kg. A frozen bird is half that. I just bought a half dozen roasted chicken thigh & leg quarters (a bit more than a kg) for AU$ 5.25. One of those with a sweet potato and either broccoli or peas will be XMas dinner.
Your coleslaw sounds like the start of a kimchi pot. It’s spicier than what we make on the Gulf Coast.
Photo ops aren’t as bad as handing out pardons to war criminals while executing more prisoners than was done by the Federal government in the thirty years before he elected.
I have a back-up cell phone that I bought on sale at my carrier. It’s a Motorola android that actually has a bigger screen that my iPhone. It doesn’t have the memory or processor capabilities of my SE, but will tide me over while I gather the money for a new one.

I hope you are both enjoying your Xmas day and relaxing. I did enjoy mine. Too much food and… maybe a little too much Scotch! I treated myself to my favorite Glenmorangie 18 YO. Couldn’t have done it without our tight-arsed Fed. Gov’s C19 supplement. They halved it in Oct & it was going to end Jan 1st, but they were forced to extend it to March, though there is no guarantee (or that they will not reduce it again). 🤷♂️😒 I had to wean myself off the antidepressants for 6 weeks so I could enjoy it! Best sleep I’ve had in years! I think I’ll dump the AD’s and stick to Scotch! 🤔😏 Grandpa had one scotch every night before bed. He swore by it, and he lost a lung in WW1 & a leg in WW2. lived to 92. It worked for him… 😎
The smoked Turkey drumsticks were good & I didn’t have to cook them (or anything actually, which was the plan!) The Coleslaw turned out better than expected as I couldn’t really remember the proper amounts. been years since I made it. But it turned out well. Just had some more with some good Pickled onions & marinated olives & cheese I like.
Trump is an immoral psychopath. So the pardons were always going to happen. Maybe he made a deal with them to break him out of prison? 🙄👿
Personally… I think he’s a “dead man walking”. Once he’s a former POTUS he’s screwed in so many ways.

I have most of what I want on this new box, so I can use it to deal with the Internet. Win 10 takes some getting used to and too much time was wasted on constant updates, but it has more RAM and a faster CPU than the machine it replaced.
I hope you are enjoying the Boxing Day events. You have fewer restrictions than are required for Florida [even if our governor wants us to believe there is no danger from COVID here]. We will be hovering around 0°C tonight, which is warmer than last night, so ‘chilling’ is not a problem 😸
