Birthday Greetings

Lt. Elizabeth Windsor

Lieutenant HRH Princess Elizabeth

It’s Queen Elizabeth’s 95th birthday, but any celebration will be extremely limited by the death of Prince Philip. The official celebration of the Queen’s Birthday takes place in the summer when the weather is better for outdoor events.

I have always loved Her Majesty (and that particular photo). When I was a kid, I couldn’t help noticing that the Queen and Her Consort had the same names as my parents: Elizabeth and Philip. Of course, I was Princess Anne. I was highly disappointed that they chose to name my brother Philip instead of Charles. Oh, well.

Happy Birthday, Your Majesty! May you continue to reign a good long while yet.

At this point I think she should retire and raise roses and corgis, like her mother. She has been in service to the country since her teenage years in World War II and only had a brief break when Philip was stationed on Malta.

Let Charles earn his keep.

she’s going to be a tough act to follow, maybe an impossible one. i sort of hope her last will and testament dissolves the monarchy, rather than passing it on to lesser beings. but yeah, roses and corgis 🙂

I doubt Charles will last very long. He will remember what it was like waiting most of his life before the job he has been training for opened up. His personal life was screwed by his parents and politicians. Harry may have shown him a way out.

William was happy as a helicopter pilot and Harry was having a good time in the Army, but they had to quit and take up the “family business”. How many supermarket openings can anyone attend before taking the scissors and stabbing someone? They have become the British version of the Mickey Mouse character at Disneyland – a tourist icon.
