Saturday Morning Tea Party
Adrastos at First Draft suggests in his post, Tell Me About The Rabbits, George, that they should make a new movie version of Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men, only have women in the main roles of George and Lennie. Adrastos thinks that Christine O’Donnell, the newly nominated Republican candidate for the Senate in Delaware has been auditioning for the role of Lennie for years.
Ms O’Donnell has stated her belief that “scientists” have created mice with the brains of humans.
You really have to wonder where a rumor like that would start, but then I remembered an old animated movie of a children’s book, The Secret of NIMH, that is based on that assumption. It then occurred to me while thinking about Of Mice and Men, that the more recent animated series, Pinky and the Brain, contains both the altered mice and a similarity of the main charaters, i.e. Pinky Brain is superficially the character George, while Pinky has characteristics of Lennie.
When dealing with people who believe in conspiracy theories, one shouldn’t neglect cartoons. They are designed to appeal to children…

But then I realize… they have no strategy. That requires a working brain. What a dichotomy! 😈 I guess they try to emulate Pinky( not very successfully), and despise Brain. Brain makes their heads hurt. (Sometimes… I just crack myself up!) 😆

Well, Jams, we have had no small number who were known as skunks, but skinks are relatively rare.
I would note that the families of many of Florida’s governors got a bit creative in the name department, but Napoleon Bonaparte Broward was definitely not the worst.

I can’t comment. Compared to Henry Kissinger and Richard Nixon, who at one point were signing my orders, a small town Satanist cult is rather mild.
Of course, if there wasn’t an obvious paper trail, I certainly wouldn’t mention it in public.
Really, that’s what makes these people “special” – it’s not that they have done dumb things in their lives; it’s that they insist on talking about it in public. This is called “testifying” or “witnessing” in fundamentalist churches, and you apparently get extra credit if what you confess is really atrocious.
Don’t mention Kissinger. You know what I think of him. As far as I am concerned, he’s ahead of Hitler and Stalin in the War Criminals list. People truly have no idea just how murderously criminal he is. The only difference really is that Hitler and Stalin at least fronted their own dirty work. Kissinger was just a puppet master. Millions of innocents have died because of Kissinger’s meddling, and more are dying still today. Indochina (Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia etc), Bangladesh, Chile, Cyprus, East Timor and even Washington DC itself, to name but a few! And now Kissinger is serving as Papal Adviser! One Fascist German to another! How appropriate!
I could say what I think of those who allowed, and still allow, him to get away with it and pretend it isn’t, and never did, happened… but out of deference, I won’t (though I have in the past)! “Out of sight, out of mind” should be the true USA motto IMHO!

Oh, and BTW… just to clarify… I was in Cambodia for a year, and I know what went on there, so I will only speak to that! When I refer to those murdred there, I don’t just mean by Pol Pot (who Kissinger arranged to gain power), I also refer to the direct deaths of at least a half-million farmers other innocents by the US military. In 1969, Kissinger and Nixon authorized the “secret” bombing of Cambodia, a neutral country, followed by the overthrow of its legitimate government in 1973. “U.S. B-52s pounded Cambodia for 160 consecutive days [in 1973], dropping more than 240,000 tons of bombs on rice fields, water buffalo, villages; and on such troop positions as the guerrillas might maintain.” All of this against a peasant society with no air defense whatsoever. Estimates are that over 500,000 people were killed, and the country’s agricultural base destroyed, leading to widespread starvation of hundreds of thousands more.
And for that, Kissinger has a Nobel prize! Is it any wonder why I consider the Nobel prize to be completely worthless, and so should anyone with any honest morals.

The reason why I have stated time and again that I believe there is a conspiracy regarding the 9/11 attacks, was primarily because I knwo the ties of those involved, and the fact that Bush appointed Kissinger as National Commission on Terrorist Attacks in 2002! If that doesn’t scream *COVER UP!!* I don’t know what does! It may be some years since I worked Intel… but shit still stinks!

Stanley Kubrick and Peter Sellers did an excellent job on portraying the Doctor. He wasn’t one for details, like signing orders before he went on vacation, which made him a lot of “non-friends” in SAC. It is difficult to act in a professional manner to defend the “Free World” when all of your aircraft are grounded because someone neglected to sign the order that allowed them to fly. As a number of people noted the second time this happened – “If the Soviets find out, we are so screwed.”
Of course, the real absurdity of the entire period was that the Soviets were more concerned with China than the US. The US could kill millions, but the Soviets had already experienced that with World War II and came back, but the Chinese could occupy territory, just as they had done in the Mongol Invasion, and that was the larger concern. People seem unaware that no European power had ever been successful in conquering Russia, but the Mongols were. They have long memories in Russia.
Nixon should never have given Kissinger access to power. he loved using it entirely too much. Yes, giving the Nobel Peace Prize to two snakes was a bit over the top.

I heard about the orders thing during my *tour* in the USA and elsewhere. Trust me, it wasn’t much of a secret. I first heard about it at GD. It probably saved thousands of innocent lives IMNSHO! 😉
And yes, the USSR was more concerned with China. They would have ignored the USA even more if the USA didn’t keep poking a stick in the anthill! They do it time and again. One of my Russian Embassy *friends* once said that Russia really wasn’t that worried about the USA, China and Israel would take care of the USA eventually! He thought it was hilariously funny! I must admit, so did I at the time! (Hey, the chilled private-stock vodka at the Embassy and Rasputin’s (restaurant) was damned good!) Russians are more pragmatic than people give them credit for. And as well as having long memories, they take the long view. Most I met really didn’t think the USA would last long. Of course, they aren’t above helping that along behind the scenes either! Such as with Iran. Secretly, they would love to see the USA start a war with Iran! He said that “The USA is nothing but a childish nuisance”. I found that to be an interesting statement, given how I know the Russians (mostly) feel about children. 🙂
Nixon & Kissinger were two peas in the pod. *shrug* “Like likes like”! The only difference is, Kissinger is still killing people, or at least, helping to cover it up.
It was a truly vicious time, and no one is ready to admit it. Some grad student will pull it together in a couple of decades and the world will shake its collective head. Assuming that the world still exists and the records aren’t lost in the flooding. But that’s another issue.
