I have located the tunnel. No light yet, but I’m confident that it is just around the next bend.
Someone else is dealing with the ‘door from hell’ so my frustration is with plumbing now. I’m hopeful that my next trip to the hardware store will be my last.
I actually got home at 9PM today, so that is definite progress compared with yesterday.

I know about that tunnel. In the last 30 days:
—Roto-rooter had to come out and clear a basement drain.
—Had water pipe leak in basement. Naturally, the prior owners had finished part of the basement and covered over the pipes, so now have a big hole in the wall that hasn’t been repaired yet.
—Dishwasher died and had to be replaced.
—Commode had to be replaced.
—Now vacuum cleaner has died.
—Just got a call from the service guy this morning and the car repair is going to be $325.00
WTH???
Wow & ouch! I had a December like that for costs with everything coming due at the same time.
