In Memoriam

In the intervening 15 years we have spent hundreds of billions of dollars, trampled on peoples rights, created huge new government bureaucracies, and can’t respond as well as the third world to a natural disaster.
It seems like we are constantly being told that every new group that appears anywhere is capable of another 9/11 attack, so what is the point if we are no safer?
Richard Clarke: “Your government failed you. Those entrusted with protecting you failed you. And I failed you. We tried hard. But that doesn’t matter, because we failed. And for that failure, I would ask, once all the facts are out, for your understanding and for your forgiveness.“

Yes. The Government certainly did fail those who died and still suffer. Willingly & knowingly. *shrug*
I saw this on TV when I got home from work late. I thought it was a movie. Took awhile to realise it was happening. Then I helped start Loaded Mouth and blogged about it. I didn’t expect what I discovered over the years using my few remaining US & other contacts. It all began with Pres. Clinton, not G. W. Bush, Bush was a convenient puppet and stupid enough to maintain any fiction. It’s why he was elected.
We may never know what really happened. Osama bin Laden (CIA asset Tim Osman) may have only been a bit player. I know something about Osman due to my time at GD where he spent some time.
Oh well. I am gladly out of it all now. *shrug*
I hope all those who lost their lives can one day rest in peace!
You have to go back to the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan and the Saudis off loading some of their religious whackoes at the request of the CIA. They neglected to be specific who the ‘foreign devil’ was, and had no plan for when the Soviets were forced out. The US created al Qaeda and lost control of their monster. Pakistani intel was just doing what the US wanted.
Clarke was a hold over from the Clinton years and just couldn’t get anyone interested in the terrorist threat. We had the data, we just didn’t have enough people looking at it to figure out what it meant.
Yep. There’s a reasonably accurate (from information from trusted sources I had) story about it here (originally written in 1998):
Osama bin Laden: Made in USA
And here:
Osama bin Laden, A.K.A. CIA Asset “Tim Osman”
Your new neighbor Jim Wright had similar thoughts, and got censored by Facebook for expressing them.
Facebook wants to be where Serious People discuss Serious Things because that pulls more eyeballs to their ads than Aunt Emily sharing pictures of her grandkids and cats, but then when it happens, they freak out because it turns out that Serious Things are uncomfortable for some people. They’re a site that was built around Aunt Emily and makng sure she isn’t offended, and haven’t figured out yet that they can’t both protect Aunt Emily from unpleasant ideas *and* have a site where Serious People discuss Serious Things….
Ehhhh! Whingebook you mean! It’s the place where all the whingers & whiners hang out! Because nobody else wants to know! And you get to be the biggest whiner until someone else comes along with a bigger problem. 5 min’s of fame! *PUKE*
And of course, even suggesting a solution to the complaint is a shooting offence! You’re only allowed to say a few scripted responses like “Oh dear! That so tragic!” etc.
Nobody wants problems fixed. They just want people to feel sorry for them. the irony of course is that nobody actually could care less! It’s all fake. Hmmmm… could call it Fakebook too! Either works.
Facebook is depending on magical algorithms to make all of its decisions, code that was created by people with no sense or knowledge of history an incapable of understanding that the wingnuts are the people doing all of the complaining. They are the masters of the astroturf which they employ to censor those who don’t agree with them.
The Vast Leftwing Conspiracy got thrown off Facebook months ago. Hillary Clinton probably got dumped when she made her statement about Trump supporters recently.
No one requires you to read anything on the ‘Net. You have to make an effort to find sites. As they used to say in ancient times – if you don’t like the music, change the station or turn off the radio.
