So this morning I went to check Twitter on my iPad and nothing new downloaded on the app. I checked using Safari and nothing downloaded. It works on Android and Windows.
Elon Musk has thrown a tantrum and cut off service to Apple because Apple won’t advertise on Twitter after Elon allowed all of the banned people back on and started backing Republicans. Tim Cook has to protect his Brand and his shareholders. This guarantees that the Twitter App will be gone from the App Store.

I used to think that Bill Gates was so rich that he was going to build a continent in the shape of his own head. Now — not so much.
I used to think that Elon Musk was brilliant and forward-thinking, poised to make the world a better place. Now — not so much.
Gates took his money and turned it to philanthropy.
Musk, it appears, is taking his alleged brilliance to build his head-shaped continent in Space, and the rest of us be damned.

He paid $44 billion for a company worth $14 billion and has proceeded to destroy it. In the process investors have gotten nervous about the value of Tesla because of fires and the accidents caused by “Autopilot”. So far he has lost an estimated $100 billion dollars and borrowed money from the Saudis and Emirates who don’t have a problem killing people who lose their money.
He has become a wingnut like Trump and the MAGAts.

Other than car problems I’m doing great. EM wants free speech and then imposes rightwing whackos on everyone, and starts a fight with Apple that makes no sense. He claims impartiality and then tells people to vote for Republicans. That picture of his night stand tells a story: two toy guns, one used for a video game, and four empty no caffeine diet Coke cans that are leaving rings on the furniture. It’s the bedroom of a teenager. Why would he show that?
I saw the announcement and then watched the video at the link. The engines on F-35s are louder than hell, not a great choice for a stealth anything. You could use World War II British technology to find them with those engines. It’s slightly better than the B-2 with a smaller payload. Its usefulness is yet to be proven.
Maybe the ‘new engines’ (in development at GE) will be less noisy. 🤷🏽♂️

I hope so, the R&D guys don’t worry about the ancient techniques or even the civilian applications when designing weapon systems. The Serbs shot down a F-117 Nighthawk using cell towers and a program on a PC. Hell, infrared sensors are still huge on AA missiles.
Musk’s neuralinks are a bad idea to begin with and given the track record of Musk batteries who would risk the implant. I have a nephew who was born deaf but now hears with a cochlear implant. He loves American football and is big enough to play on his high school team, but he decided he wouldn’t risk damage to the implant, even wearing a helmet. His ability to hear is more important than his desire to play a game he loves.
After working for General Dynamics for over a year, I agree! Most only worry about what tech is, or may be, coming. “Future proofing”. Nice concept… It’s never worked very well. Ignoring the past is asking for trouble.

Bryan… I don’t know about you, but I am feeling as I did after 4 years of several hours per day of dealing with the Shrubbery & GOP. Exhausted & drained. In a way… I am glad EM has turned Twitter into a steaming cesspit. I’ve done all I can to make people aware & understand reality. Zero chance of that with the influx of moronic thoughtless clones flooding it now.
Don’t know if I ever mentioned it… But I did 2 yrs of an Automobile Mechanic’s Apprenticeship at 17 through Shell. I quit after just being the Mechanic’s menial slave. Though, in hindsight, they drove me to going for a BSc in Engineering instead. Every Thursday, I attended Box Hill TAFE (Technical And Further Education) school (they used to be simply Technical Schools – Bloody politicians!) The teacher asked why I was quitting and I told him. He said I was wasting my potential and should see the Principal. So I did. We had a lengthy discussions, he suggested I should participate in the new three year Certificate of Technology course, which was a precursor to a BSc in an Engineering steam of my choice, requiring only 1 year to achieve. COT was the hardest course I have ever done! Washout rate was very high! Over 70% (we had to pass a rigorous entry regimen to be selected!) Ah well… the past is gone. “Seemed like a good idea at the time!” 😏🙄 (I want that on my headstone! Or, “WTF was that all about?”) 😜😂

I just finished downloading the HUGE new The Witcher 3 “Next-gen Update”! Over 50 GB. It’s essentially The Witcher 3.5 now. 😀 Can’t wait to get my last 3 parts to build my new PC to play it! They have been shipped (via sea, airfreight prices are INSANE! The case was going to cost more to ship than it cost!) But shipping & customs are overloaded. What should have taken 2-4 weeks, is now 2-4 Months! 🤨😖
Shipping is unreal. Almost everything I ordered from Amazon was delivered in two days. Now I’m lucky if I get it in a week. Nothing is coming via the postal service. UPS and FedEx are not sure where I am after 70 years of Dumkas living at this address.
Since the arrival of EM I spend more time blocking rightwing nut cases then reading tweets. I now have accounts on @Post.news and @mstdn.social and feeling my way around. I will go somewhere, not sure where.

I’ve been doing more blocking than anything else since Noel Kums pushed into the building in San Francisco, but this week a Rabbi who I follow finally showed up on my timeline again. She tweets most days except Friday and Saturday. I didn’t read any of EM’s tweets as I blocked him as well as any Magats that showed up and creeps on the comments of some women’s tweets. Like Trump, he doesn’t pay his bills and keeps threatening to leave San Francisco. He thinks people want him in the city. His landlord wouldn’t mind getting the build back to raise the rent.
About that young lady, a political operative should show up in a Google/Duckduckgo search. We are amazed that Twitter is the only place she appears.
So… EM posted a tweet poll about whether he should stop down as ‘boss’ of twitter.

The finance guys have been wondering if they were going to get involved. As for me… screw it ALL! I’m tired of it. I’m spending most of my time with my kitties (which they are happy about), Gaming, and watching some TWITCH streamers I like (though I despise TWITCH totally! Thankfully, YouTube is making it better for live streamers and many are moving over! Good!) Also watching some of my favorite game/science/film vid’s, etc. on YT. One of my faveorite gamer streamers is LilliaTV. Her reactions to games she plays are priceless! She and her hubby had a break recently when she gave birth to a new gamer-to-be! 😆 So glad it went well. 😀 They are good people so far as I know. I’ve no reason to think otherwise. She posted some heartfelt ‘explainer’ type vids over the years, that I understood completely.

So far the only “frozen pipe” was a rubber hose to a washing machine. You can’t convince people that -7°C does nothing good to plumbing. I told the tenant to warm things up with her hair dryer. I have a heat gun but it’s too hot on it’s low setting to use on rubber.

Well… My Xmas Day is over & Yours is beginning. My Kitties and I had a very nice day. Callie got quite excited by her 1st Xmas! Was great to see. She’s doing well. Fewer bad dreams this past week & sleeping better & longer. The other two have been awesome with her. They remember what it was like for them to be abandoned. They snuggle up to her & purr when she has a bad dream. I talk to her gently & pat her to reassure her. She’s smart & knows she is safe here. The Bastards that treated her badly then abandoned her better have move overseas! If I ever find them. I’ll make sue they never have a good nights sleep ever again!
Sorry… It still upsets me! Mr. Kitty & Little Miss took over a year to get over it & feel safe. Callie is much younger than they were. I hate most Humans!

The remaining cats have all been adopted and I only have Property, Ringo’s daughter left. she has decided that she will be an outside cat. The decision came after her brother, Excise (the tabby Siamese cross) passed over the rainbow bridge. I would get another cat from the shelter if I wasn’t so old, but help a neighbor on disability pay for his cats.

When I got Dot & Sox, my first cat, Koshka, was not amused. I had to keep them separate for months. I finally put a hardware cloth (1/4 inch square wire grid) version of a screen door so they could see, smell, and hiss at each other. Males are usually OK with other females, but females have to be convinced. You are lucky.
The local cats think I should be doing something about possums, racoons, and other riff-raff from eating “their food”. Gratitude really isn’t a “cat thing”.

The Gulf Coast is getting the least of these storms, but the Pacific Coast is getting hammered. They won’t have time to clean up from this one before the next one hits. La Niña is really soaking Australia and the US Pacific Coast.
