Nice Of Them To Notice

A quick check showed that neither PBS or NPR thought it was worthwhile to mention Labor Day in their programming [outside of references in campaigning on labor day at parades in Iowa and New Hampshire], while the CBC had all kinds of features today.

I guess labor is just too controversial for the media.

Their Republican overlords would object and reduce corporate funding if they ran the documentaries on the Triangle Shirtwaist fire, or the mining strikes.

The madder I get, the more restrained I get. I have a very bad temper that I actively work at controlling.

I was really shocked when I got my first teaching position and found out there was a union for faculty members. I joined after a little research on the reason it was founded. You would have thought that a state university system would have some concept of fairness and equality of treatment, but that wasn’t the case.
