Time To Mess With Your Clocks

Daylight Savings Time ends in the US Sunday morning, November 2nd at 2AM.  It becomes 1AM and you get an extra hour of sleep, unless you work the “graveyard shift”.

Most devices make the change automatically, although many, like my clock radio, change under the old system and have to be ignored for a couple of weeks.

Sorry, but they make the change automatically for the weekend that it was until George Bush messed with it. Thus my computer moved back last week and I had to reset it. Twice.

I know, Scorpio, and it’s damn annoying. Extending Daylight Savings Time is like all of the other stupid stunts they have pulled to fool weak-minded people into believing that they are doing something about energy problems.

There’s a windoze patch that corrects for the DST changes.

I wish they would pick a time and stay there. Where I live DST is the better choice. Chicago is right on the edge of the eastern and central zones and when we switch back in the autumn it gets dark way too early. Darkness at 4:30pm anyone?

You are a full degree West of me, and I’m in the middle of the Central Time Zone area of Florida. The boundary should be just East of Detroit, but politics get involved.

Time zones are about Noon, and when it happens. The sun will set at 4:57pm CST here, but we don’t have the big swings in daylight you get up North.
