What if the Second Coming has already occurred and no one noticed?
Hezbollah was formed as a response to the Israeli occupation of Lebanon. Hamas was formed as a response to the Israeli occupation of Gaza and the West Bank. Isn’t that a hint?
The standard football field or pitch with both teams and the referee on it has about the same population density as Gaza. How do you do anything separately from your neighbors, and doesn’t dropping bombs guarantee civilian deaths, given the standard blast radius?
Did you know that according to the UN official registration, two-thirds of the inhabitants of Gaza, a million people, are refugees … from Israel?

If Jesus came back for the second time, he’s probably on skid row waiting for people to recognize and offer help…but no one has. I’m sure that Jesus isn’t coming back with some fancy Mercedes and a timeshare in a gated community.

It really annoys evangelicals when they get wound up with their “witnessing”. It takes a bit for them to understand the implications, but they start sputtering after that.
I replaced the money header, Hipparchia, because things have changed.

I was digging through my boxes out in the back shed when my housemate came home from shopping. She asked what I was looking for, and I said I was looking for some cookie recipe’s for a friend. The way they have screwed up the Intel community in this country, it really doesn’t matter much any more. People don’t understand the value of competition and tension among services, or that the final decisions were once made by the National Security Advisor because that was one of the main reasons for creating that position. It’s not clear what the DirCIA or the NSC does any more since all of their previous responsibilities has been parceled out. There are too many layers of management, and that helps no one.
The problem of coordination was due to an incompetent National Security Advisor, as that’s where the orders came from. If the NSC directed people to play nice, it happened, just ask Richard Clarke.
We are so screwed if this isn’t reformatted and organized in a more responsive way.
Panetta is getting a title without a job, because the Hedgemony couldn’t figure out that an order from the White House was all that was needed, not a new agency.

At the risk of an avalanche of protests from the Obamaniacs, I have never viewed him as anything other than center right political hack from a big city machine.
He wouldn’t even be talking about health care if others hadn’t brought it up, and the selection of a corporate media mouthpiece as surgeon general is in line with the lack of enthusiasm for any significant change.
I will wait until he is actually in office before saying anything stronger, but those who were beating the drum the loudest for Obama made a lot of assumptions that they will soon regret. The main problem of the Democrats being in power is that they don’t have any leaders in positions of power.
