Excuse Me?
Amy Sullivan in a Time piece tells us that Shhh. Obama Repeals the Abortion Gag Rule, Very Quietly.
Excuse me, but if this was supposedly such a secret why is it one of the top 5 news stories at every US and foreign media site I visited today?
The foreign media tend to flag this story along with reversing the stem cell research funding ban, and the closing of Guantanamo as evidence that the US is regaining its sanity.
It was an executive order and it has to be published to take effect. At last report there were people called reporters working for organizations called the media who are supposed to let the public know about such things. It would appear, that in this case they did that.
What did Ms Sullivan expect, a grand gathering at the Mall with Obama coming down to the steps of the Capitol to announce his executive orders? The last I knew he was a bit busy at the moment.

I have to say, THIS President has gotten more done in 100 hours than the last “President” did in 6 years. (you have to subtract the approx. 2 years Bush was on vacation…)

Well, the Shrubbery did set into motion wiretapping the entire nation in his first days in office, so he wasn’t entirely idle.
I see Obama has signed an order repealing the protection of previous Presidents, especially the part where the protection was set in perpetuity (decedents could also claim the records would remain sealed on behalf of deceased forefathers. I’m sure the Bushmoron enabled that to protect Pappa Bushmoron.)
As I said elsewhere, One News program here showed a chart that showed Obama had in fact produced more *work* in his first day than Bushmoron did in his first week. 🙂 I’m sure that trend will continue. At that rate, it should only take Obama 6 to 9 months to undo all the *work* Bushmoron did in 8 years (not excluding the Bushmorons official and unofficial holidays). 🙂
I am also enjoying the fact (for now anyway) that Congress is getting annoyed because Obama isn’t consulting them on any of this (except where he has to). LOL I wonder if he’s trying to make a point?

The Hedgemony has been burrowing into the government for the last 8 years and it is going to take work and time to get rid of the cancer. The Department of Justice is pretty much going to have to be rebuilt from the ground up, and the mess that is the Department of Homeland Security has never been built in the first place.
This was the low hanging fruit that was easy to spot and remove. Now the search is on for the real pockets of disease.
The media will fight this administration on every move it can, because their corporate overlords aren’t going to like it.
I think they mean he just did it without giving one of those barfy, lecturing speeches wit which Bush accompanied such actions.

The Shrubbery was just celebrating the fact that he managed to successfully sign his name again. The now departed clown used Sharpies, which is about a half step above a crayon, to sign things so no one would notice the loss of motor control caused by his years of substance abuse.
It is highly insulting to have a supposedly reformed barfly lecture on morality, a subject with which the Bush family has little familiarity.
