Given the prevalence of accurate timekeeping devices, it is amazing that the explosions that are supposed to signal the new year extend for a four hour period beginning before and extending well after the actual event. Anyone who thinks alcohol and gunpowder is a recipe for a long life should be avoided by insurance agents.
The new year brings new opportunities, so here’s hoping that the good wins out and the world is made a little better.

There is always a possibility, OWL, but I won’t be betting on it.
Maybe someone could sell them shoes with a target pattern on the toes so we will know where the bullets are going. I wouldn’t recommend shooting into the ground around here as the maroons are apt to hit a gas line. I guess it would be too much to ask that they use blanks. Suzan, the state of New York finally had to list police warning shots under the Reckless Endangerment charge to stop cops from doing that, and they are supposedly trained in firearms safety. Apparently the risk of going to prison stopped the practice state-wide.
