He probably won’t return until all of the noise abates, Jams. It is very weird to step out at night and not having to deal with a crowd of cats.
That picture is out of focus as a result of the limited depth of field caused by the low like conditions, but the cats have been hiding lately because of the weather and the confusion next door.
