Yukon Quest 2015 – Day 4

Yukon Quest map odd years

Sled DogThe tracker is showing Brent has a 20 mile lead over Allen and Hugh at about the 400-mile marker. The current temperature in Dawson is -40° which is the same for Fahrenheit or Centigrade with a warming trend forecast.

Update at 4:14PM CST: The tracker seems to show Jeff King headed back to Pelly Crossing, which would indicate he intends to scratch. He spent a lot of time at the rest stop, and may have concerns about his team and the long run to Dawson.

Update: Jeff did scratch. Jason Campeau (24)R will have to spend an extra 8 hours in Dawson as a penalty for replacing a busted sled. The Quest has a one sled rule.

These are the official standings. That means they are official, not that they are correct. Things jump around a lot as people decide to update the standings. This problem is especially bad in the back of the pack, as no one bothers to update those standings when the lead is changing.

The Mushers in bold are former winners of the Yukon Quest, the numbers in parentheses are their Bib numbers, and the small “R” indicates a rookie.

Note: This post will be updated during the day, and the map changed on all posts to reflect the current situation.
