The Latest On Hillary’s E-Mail

Believe it or not, Hillary sent e-mails to her assistant, and her assistant still had some on her phone/Blackberry when the FBI confiscated it for the investigation into the assistant’s soon to be ex-husband.

The FBI will now know if Hillary asked her assistant to pick up her laundry….

If you are interested and can use your own e-mail program read Badtux’s summation of the Politico summation of the entire mess to find out how little there is to investigate.

The bottom line is that if you depended on e-mail for anything you had to use a private account rather than the crappy e-mail server at the State Department.

Every email has a From/To header that identifies originator and receptor. There are 33,000 emails that probably identify hundreds if not thousands of receptors who have computers tablets or cell phones. I sense “Full Employment” for the Foolish Bullshit Investigators.

These are e-mails that have all been seen before. Hillary sent them to her assistant to be printed out.

thank you, badtux! that was definitely a worthwhile public service.

What is hilarious, digging through the Wikileaks database of Hillary’s emails, is that the emails sent by her, probably a quarter of them are asking someone to print something out for her — either emails or a document.

What was most amazing reading this whole account was that I’d expected there to be some story of Team Hillary being secretive or evasive. Instead, it reads like all too many government contracts that I was involved with over the years — a story of government IT incompetence and the expensive consultants who try to make things work for the incompetent people who theoretically are in charge of IT.

Hipparchia, thank Politico. That is some of the best reporting on a government IT fiasco that I’ve seen in years. It is detailed, it is thorough, it is relentless in its depiction of incompetence on the part of both the State Department and Team Hillary when it comes to basic IT functions. The State Department came out worse for the wear in this depiction, Team Hillary’s email server was actually set up reasonably securely for its day and time thanks to the expensive consultant they hired to put it together. Their day-to-day IT guy, on the other hand, was an idiot.

After reading the Politico article I would like Comey to explain his claim that Hillary used more than one device. She used the Blackberry. Her staff kept trying to get her to use a computer or a tablet, but she stuck with the Blackberry.

The problem they have with the DoS e-mail system make it mandatory to get an outside e-mail account to get their job done.

They finally had people talking about classified documents who have some understanding of the system. If I used information gathered by trade attaches for the Department of Commerce, it would have been classified because I used it, not based on what was in the information. If State quoted it it wouldn’t be classified. The CIA classifies everything, as does NSA, just to be safe, not because it is necessary.

I’m still looking for the ‘probable cause’ needed to have launched an investigation in the first place.

In the alternate Bizzaro universe… Judge Jeanine Pirro (FOX) was savagely attacked (in comments I mean) by her loving followers for stating that she is siding with Hillary over the timing of the Comey’s 2nd investigation. And notice how many in comments claim that Hillary is a criminal. LOL I’ve said for over a decade, the GOP lovers would eat their own! And they do.

This links to the video on Pirro’s FB page:

It should be amazing that so many people have zero idea what criminal, crime, law etc. even mean (judging by the many comments)! These people are completely delusional.

I just laugh every time I read comments like this one! I almost feel more sad for the USA than Aus! Almost.

If anyone ever needed any proof about how delusional these fools are:

“LeAnne Kilman: this isn’t about you. it’s about an actual criminal who is about to get into office. you were innocent, she is guilty. what is wrong with you? obviously comey is on hillary’s side so he had no choice with new evidence. I’m sure he fears for his life no matter what.”

Ohhh… How many things can one person get totally wrong in one short paragraph! LOL

thank Politico. That is some of the best reporting on a government IT fiasco that I’ve seen in years. It is detailed, it is thorough, it is relentless

I will check it out, but meanwhile, I still thank you for the lucid and readable summary!

Comey may have violated Federal law by his actions in this case. We know and he admits that he has violated Justice Department policy and proedures. Given that they didn’t get a warrant to look at the e-mails until after he made his announcement, the FBI has no idea if there is anything related to Hillary Clinton on Weiner’s laptop. If there is nothing on the laptop, Comey is unemployed and possibly facing charges under the Hatch Act for engaging in politics.

12 Steve Bates { 10.31.16 at 12:34 am }

Reading Comey’s terse “explanations” cost me little enough time, but listening to Kellyanne Conway’s stream-of-consciousness rants induces enough suffering that it surely qualifies every listener for sainthood. Grrrr…

13 Bryan { 10.31.16 at 7:13 pm }

No one knows what if anything is on the laptop. If there is nothing new found Comey has no credibility and could face criminal charges, as he should.

14 Badtux { 10.31.16 at 9:52 pm }

Just a reminder: the Hatch Act does not apply to political appointees in the executive department (those appointed by the President with the Advice and Consent of the Senate). They are assumed to be political and can campaign as they wish. However, it’s rather bad form to campaign *against* the candidate that your President supports!

15 Bryan { 11.01.16 at 3:36 pm }

Actually those appointees do fall under the jurisdiction of the Hatch Act and cabinet secretaries and Vice President Al Gore have all run afoul of the act. The key is whether or not the individual used the power of their office. They can’t take an official action to assist their preferred candidate or impede the opponent.

Seems Trump may have some eMail troubles of his own! LOL

Donald Trump’s march halted by fresh Russia scandal

And so, the circus continues… And the clowns are truly stealing the show! 😈

If anyone cared to report it he also has a court date on Dec 13 in a claim he raped a 13-year-old, and the IRS needs to take a long look at his foundation.

18 Badtux { 11.02.16 at 11:01 pm }

Good point about the Hatch Act preventing them from using the resources of their office to go politicking, because those resources are themselves covered by the Hatch Act.

19 Bryan { 11.03.16 at 2:54 pm }

These days most violations involve using government resources: infrastructure, facilities, equipment, etc., rather than employees. There are two separate phone systems in most governent offices of elected officials, one for government business and the second for fund raising. The normal level of compliance is really amazing.
