As far as travel by distinct religious groups, flight passengers from the seven Muslim-majority nations named by Trump were down by 80% in the last week of January and first week of February, according to Forward Keys, a well-known firm of travel statisticians. On the web, flight searches for trips heading to the U.S. out of all international locations was recently down by 17%.
A drop of that magnitude, if continued, would reduce the value of foreign travel within the U.S. by billions of dollars. And the number of jobs supported by foreign tourists and their expenditures in the United States—and thus lost—would easily exceed hundreds of thousands of workers in hotels, restaurants, transportation, stores, tour operations, travel agencies, and the like.
It was bad enough when an oil company decided to destroy my local economy with an oil leak caused by their reckless behavior, but now we have the SCROTUS, an individual who makes his money from hotels and golf courses, destroying tourism with his misguided policies. How much is he prepared to lose?

You know my attitude about the F-35 – I keep waiting for one to crash into my house. They are kind of like the Jaguar E-Types: a half hour of greatness and in the shop the rest of the week. This is not a terrible things with ‘toys’ like an E-Jag, but not something to recommend a front line aircraft.

Yeah these ‘stealth’ aircraft are so great – like the B-2 bomber that becomes a huge radar target if it gets wet. So neither of these things can fly in a thunderstorm and the F-22 suffocates its pilot with a flaky oxygen system. Tens of billions of dollars doesn’t buy a lot in the way of usable aircraft these days.
Trump doesn’t understand the difference between the political appointees and the professionals in government agencies. He has pissed off the pros and they tend not to be nice people when annoyed. They have the evidence and if he keeps screwing around they’ll turn it over to ‘the appropriate people’ for prosecution. Trump needs to start sweating ‘bigly’ if lawyers from the major intel agencies start having meetings with Pence.

The WikiLeaks thing, if real, is probably concerned with the investigation of a leak from the White House. The President can’t authorize a wiretap, but can act as a source to provide probable cause for a warrant.
