What we had:

The White House

What we’ve got:

The Theme Song for the next four years.

Some have complained about the reticence of the media to call lies what they are. That reluctance is breaking down – Fareed Zakaria: Trump Is A Bullshitter. [In almost every marketing and/or sales office I have ever seen, at least one guy had a coffee mug inscribed with: “If you can’t dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit”.]

Juan Cole notes that Trump picks fights with US Allies: Germany, NATO, EU, Britain etc. The guy keeps talking about what a great ‘deal-maker’ he is, so when does it start? So far he seems hellbent on destroying most of our existing ‘deals’ without any replacements in sight.

Germany rejects Donald Trump’s claims it owes NATO and US ‘vast sums’ for defence. Trump knows nothing about NATO or defense. These alliances are based on treaties, and Trump might want to have someone read them to him or get an account at Audible, because there is little evidence of his reading ability. It is past time for Schoolhouse Rock in the ‘Main Tent’…

I’m curious if you saw Copenhagen’s take on Trump right before the election. There was a bus painted encouraging Americans abroad to vote. If you didn’t see it, it’s worth a 25 second video for a laugh: Crazy Donald

I don’t know why I seem to keep sending all these dang links. Usually I don’t bother people with them because often what one thinks is funny, another doesn’t. Apparently, I’m in a mood these days. Lol.

Isn’t nice to know that the world at large shares our pain and sympathizes. The ‘we are number 2’ videos are also pretty funny.

Just checked a couple of those out. Pretty funny.

I love the way they used his “limited” vocabulary.

Esquire & others did warm people that Trumper had the intellect of a 4th grader back in 2015! LOL

Donald Trump Woos Republicans By Speaking at a 4th Grade Level

And: “His competitors from both parties aren’t much better.”

Trumper’s announcement speech was rated the lowest @ 4.1. In contrast, Sanders was rated @ 10.1.

Politico had this interesting take:
Donald Trump Talks Like a Third-Grader

Wjem you elimate proper names, he has a vocabulary of less than 100 words, the vast majority single syllable. ‘His best-selling book’ was ghost written – he put his name on it, like he does with buildings and vodka.

Speaking of “Seriously?” Have you perchance heard about this? At first, I thought it a joke. Apparently… not! Which simply makes it more hilarious!

Ordo Militaris Catholicus

I just can’t keep Monty Python out of my mind now!

“We are the Knights who say … NI.”
“Please! This is supposed to be a happy occasion. Let’s not bicker and argue over who killed who.”

And so many more! 🙄

8 Bryan { 03.22.17 at 1:53 pm }

It is really discriminatory of you, Kryten, to assume it was only the evangelical Protestants who were whacko. The Catholics have the right to be just as crazy as every other group claiming to follow the Prince of Peace by starting armed conflicts that kill people.

Religion causes terrorism. It’s no particular religion – given time all of them will cause wars.

9 Kryten42 { 03.22.17 at 9:19 pm }

Given I was raised a Catholic, including Primary (Elementary) School with the harsh Nuns & College with the Christian Brothers, Sunday School, even an Altar Boy… Nobody ever has to lecture me about the insanity of Catholics. I’m sure I could write a book about it. *shrug*

I’m aware you’re being satirical of course. 🙂 Just giving context.

Apparently they are more ignorant of history than I imagined. Or perhaps they are still pissed that the last master of the Knights Templar was burned at the stake in the 14th Century. 🙂

There’s still little actual info on the London attack. All waiting for Scotland Yard to release details.

London terrorist attack: What we know and what we don’t know

Expect more. *shrug*

11 Bryan { 03.22.17 at 10:17 pm }

I remember you saying that you were raised a Catholic. We have been putting up with conservative Bishops in the US until their actions in the child molestation cases pretty much eliminated their ‘moral authority”.

Just more militia nonsense in the US Northwest.

The last I saw was 5 dead and 40 injured. The perpetrator drove through pedestrians, crashed, and then attacked a policeman with a knife, before being shot by another officer.

12 Kryten42 { 03.23.17 at 12:19 am }

It’s new in the USA, but a global movement. Not very widespread so far, but growing.

Have a laugh on me/us!

George Brandis, Asio and the battle to control Australia’s telecommunications

Just to prove the USA doesn’t have a monopoly on batshit insanity! They truly are f*kin loonies! For so many reasons!

Another home-grown radical who undermines the immigration haters in London.

You need to prove competency to drive, so you should be required to show competency to create legislation that covers a specialty area. What these people really want to do is censor people – to kill free speech when they feel like it.

While I would personally like to see SCROTUS kicked off Twitter ‘to protect the children’, I will defend his right to be an asshole because I firmly believe that free speech is something worth dying for. Let the haters talk so everyone will know who they are and what they believe. Brandis should deal with his own ethical problems before complaining about others.

14 Kryten42 { 03.24.17 at 7:36 am }

Oh… It get’s worse here! I cannot believe… actually, yes I do… this:

Minister Michael McCormack invokes penalty rates to defend generous travel allowance

This absolute bastard charged taxpayers $273/night to stay in an Apartment he & his wife own! And compares it to workers penalty rates, which this bastard & the LNP are removing! Also, the unemployed only get $267 per week! This SOB get’s $313,500/yr + a generous allowance & a lifetime pension much higher than normal age pension with no means test!

Getting really sick of it!

They should use the money to build barracks for MPs. If they are good enough for the people getting shot at, they are good enough for the people who order them into danger. We do a similar thing in the Florida legislature, but it only meets 60 days and the members are only paid about $27K. It’s a part-time job.

It is hard to believe that you can’t get a motel room and breakfast for half of that per diem. Hell, we are paying hundreds of thousands to fly SCROTUS to Florida every weekend, and these days most Congresscritters fly back to their district on the weekends on the public dime.
