Things Are Getting Serious

The Wall Street Journal [via Crooks & Liars and Charlie Pierce] has reported that Robert Mueller has empaneled a second grand jury for the probe into Russian interference in the US election. There is an existing grand jury in Virginia that was empaneled earlier for the part of the probe that involves Michael Flynn.

The new jury was empaneled in Washington DC, and I wouldn’t be surprised if a third jury wasn’t empaneled in New York City at some point in the future. Mueller’s hires make it obvious that he is following the money, and that means the New York/New Jersey real estate market.

Things are getting serious, and they aren’t going to disappear.

Our electoral system is rotten to the core but that state of affairs has nothing to do with Russia and nobody with any power is interested in fixing it, although there’s some good money waiting to be made with fake “reform”.

The biggest problem with elections in the US is the amount of money involved. Since the Supremes keep blocking meaningful campaign finance reform, that isn’t going to change. The issue that started the investigation was Russian influence in the 2016 elections, but the indictments are going to center on the crimes of individuals related to Russian money laundering and cover-ups.

Here’s a little more smoke, perhaps even fire! We’ll see eventually.

REPORT: Trump Jr.’s Russia Meeting Was Recorded by Intelligence Agency

I’ll let you read it. 😉 😀

Here for a laugh! 😆

Bar Officially Cannot Be Lowered

Judging by all the ‘toons & snarky editorials in the New Yorker, I don’t think they like Trump much! 😉 😆

The Brits were probably watching to see what Goldstone was doing. He has connections to the oligarchs. Irakly Kaveladze was the representative for the Agalarov family at the meeting. He the senior vice president for their US ‘laundromat’, Crocus.

Yeah, I suspect so. 🙂

More trouble in the hen house! 😀

Russian Bots Are Starting To Attack The Republican Party

Probably part of the Russian plan to destabilize the USA. Picking Trump was a good move. Anything he did/said was guaranteed to cause trouble without much need for guidance or much cost. With his ego, control is so very simple. He’s a dream come true for any foreign agent. *shrug*

This is classic Soviet doctrine – destabilize countries perceived to be threats. It is a much cheaper alternative to invading them. It is really cheap in the US because the SVR/GRU disinformation campaign is being picked up by the organs established by whacko billionaires like the Koch, Coors, and Walton families to have a much greater impact. There’s nothing better than watching your opponents make own-goals.

Yes. And Murdoch of course, one of the worst of the lot.

This is apparently the latest brainfart:

Trump considering privatizing Afghanistan military ops, massive contract to Blackwater founder

What could possibly go wrong?! Personally, I hope he does it. Then the Aussie troops can finally come home, and all the others. Though, it will probably mean the US regular troops will become just targets. Blackwater will probably use their standard modus operandi of pillaging, raping & generally causing chaos to everyone around them.

🙄

OhhhKayyyyyy… So, Trump tweeted this:

Donald J. Trump‏ @realDonaldTrump (Verified account)
“Be prepared, there is a small chance that our horrendous leadership could unknowingly lead us into World War III.”

Soooo… He IS planning to send Blackwater to AF so the Military can invade NK? otherwise… WTF? Actually, WTF in either case!

The new South Korean President may evict the US from his country. He and the US Secretary of State are trying to calm things, but the asshole in the While House is looking for a war.

That wasn’t a tweet from Trump, is was a response to Trump’s inflammatory, ignorant tweets. People are starting to complain about the media repeating his crap and stirring up panic.

I keep hoping the congress would put a stop to all the bs…and quit letting his staffing picks get through. That new FBI director seems to have Russian ties. How many others?

There is a hell of a lot of Russian money being injected in the New York/New Jersey area. It is hard not to get involved with it if you deal with large sums of money. The is no way of being sure that people dealing with million of dollars of Russian cash are not compromised.

We know Trump owes Deutsche Bank [German central bank] over $300 million in loans, and it is probable that he owes the Russians even more. His operation, like many real estate/development operations is dependent on borrowed money. Trump has too many bankruptcies in the US to get money from US banks or investors, so he has to go to foreign markets, like Europe, Russia, and China. It wouldn’t surprise me that his biggest concern with the Mueller investigation is that they will find out what the Trump Organization is really worth, which may be a negative number. His liability in loans may exceed his assets.
