Trump’s lawyer claims responsibility for president’s problematic tweet

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer took responsibility Sunday for a tweet that Trump sent the previous day, in which the president said for the first time that he knew his former security adviser, Michael Flynn, had lied to the FBI before he fired Flynn in February.

The tweet caused an uproar in Washington because it implied Trump knew Flynn had committed a felony — lying to the FBI — when he told then-FBI director James Comey to go easy on Flynn the day after the firing.

Interfering in the FBI’s investigation could be construed as obstructing justice, potentially creating legal jeopardy for Trump. Within a few hours, Trump’s personal lawyer, John Dowd, stepped in to say that he wrote the tweet, not the president.

Dowd told NBC News that he drafted the tweet and then sent it to White House Social Media Director Dan Scavino to publish. When asked for the original email he sent to Scavino, Dowd said he dictated it orally.

There is no way anyone with a couple of working neurons is going to buy this huge mound of bovine excrement as being in the same universe as the truth. The gratuitous reference to “lying to the FBI” screams blow dried comb over, not bald lawyer.

Here’s an update… or downdate? I dunno any more!

Donald Trump lawyer looks to cut off possible obstruction charges
Did he… or din’t he?

“The president cannot obstruct justice because he is the chief law enforcement officer under [the Constitution’s Article II] and has every right to express his view of any case,” Mr Dowd told NBC News on Tuesday morning (AEST).

Mr Dowd added that the President’s tweet on the weekend saying he knew Mr Flynn lied to the FBI “did not admit obstruction”.

“That is an ignorant and arrogant assertion,” Mr Dowd said.

Weeeeeeelllll… That’s cleared that up then! 🙄

“It’s not a crime if the President does it.” — Donald Nixon Trump.

He’s right… well except for the fact that it was on the bills of impeachment for both Nixon and Clinton and “no one is above the law” Magna Carta 1215, but other than that he’s right. 😈 Dowd is on the verge of being disbarred by his conduct. He can no longer represent Trump because he has become a witness, and he is only representing Trump because none of the big firms will take Trump on with his history of not paying bills.

I am exhausted friends! Twitter has gone insane! I’ve gone from 74 followers in Jan to 1,125 now. Over 200 the past 2 weeks! there are a couple huge anti- Dotard/RWNJ/LWNJ/misogynist/narcissist/sociopath/trolls (paid and just moronic) etc.

like this one basically about how the RWNJ (mostly the paid disruptor’s) are using Twitter to disrupt/split/slow groups like #TheResistance #resistance #resist :

I was forced to mute some conversations. Couldn’t handle over 1,000 Notifications a day! We are creating some new tools based upon the Twitter API to deal with this.

And that’s my news. I’m gonna have a nap now!

A laugh before I hit the sack! 😆

I was watching a YT video of Hitchens debating Sci. vs faith with some christian idiot, and saw this comment from an idiot calling himself ShinRaPresident trying to appear intelligent (failed!) dissing Science:

Premise 1: All men are mortal.
Premise 2: Socrates was a mortal.
Conclusion: Therefore, all men are Socrates.

My Reply:
Premise 1: All men have an anus
Premise 2: All Donkeys have an anus
Conclusion: Therefore, this guy is a Donkey full of crap!

It was tough! There were sooooo many possible responses! Not entirely sure why I chose what I did, just seemed appropriate. *shrug*

And on that note… G’night all! 👋🏾🛌🏾😴

Twitter doesn’t seem able to deal with inherent problems in its system, so outsiders need to fill the gap. Spam by any other name is just as rancid.

See, I would have gone with the Fundie argument – Did you know Socrates? If you didn’t know him how do you know he was mortal? Actually, how do you know he was a he? If there was a Socrates and we are still talking about him/her, isn’t that a form of immortality?

Oh, Obama kicked Trump’s ass on the Twitter stats in 2017, and Time in the “Silence Breakers”, the people who stepped forward to denounce creeps like Drumpf, as Person of the Year.

LOL Yes… You’s is much better! It was 2AM in my defense & I was on my way to bed! 😉 But I do like your version.

Yeah, Twitter has a lot of issues! Especially with blocklists! There’s a huge one essentially subverted by Louise Mensch & her cronies. She’s a real Sociopath. Some are seriously thinking she is actually Schizophrenic. Could be given her very erratic history!

Did a big tweet about the TIME Person(s) of the year! Dotard must be just about ready for a meltdown! Maybe that was the reason for his sudden *Jerusalem solution*!

I had issues with TIME during the Shubbery years & Obama term as they often gave the GOP a free pass. I guess they’ve finally had enough. I know they really don’t like Dotard @ all!

Trump counterfeited some Time covers with his picture on them to post at his facilities and that is a intellectual property no, no. They didn’t sue him, but they should have. Actually I think the fact that Obama beat him soundly in the Twitter stats probably set him off more than Time. Obama used ‘less is more’ to knock off Trump, who is an addict.

It’s my bedtime with the outside temperature at 7°C, it is time to bundle up.
