I’m Still Here

It is hard to type in mittens. While on my winter header graphic I’m wearing brown, in reality my my fuzzy earflap ‘trooper’ hat is black, as is my puffy ski jacket.

I don’t get the uproar over the pending publication of a book that reveals, yet again, that Trump is crackers and panicked about the pending revelations concerning his financial dealings. All of this information has been out there for a long time. Trump’s father had Alzheimer’s, so it is hardly news that he has it. He supposed to have a physical this month, but you can be sure that the results won’t be made public until after he releases his tax returns.

All our computers, pads, and smartphones, even Macs, are going to be affected by flaws in the design of the CPU chips. While the Meltdown problem affects primarily Intel processors, the Spectre defect ‘haunts’ everybody. The patches are coming out, but the real fix is redesigning the chips, which is not going to be easy, cheap, or fast. First you have to visualize the solution, then you create the design to implement your solution in a new chip. The manufacturers have been working on the problem for half a year and no one has indicated they know what to do. In Comments Kryten provides a not absurdly technical link on the problems.

Regarding Michael Wolff’s “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House”… This will make the title even more apt than originally thought!

Steyer bought Wolff book for every member of Congress

Hmmm. I wonder if Steyer included reading lessons, especially for Dotard Tantrum?🤔🤭🤣

I’m expecting to hear heads exploding from here! 😉 🤣

OT: Seen this?

Roy Moore accuser loses everything in house fire under investigation for arson

Of course the Sheriff’s department was quick to make a determination, Even before any evaluation had been completed. Very… efficient… of them.

“While the Etowah County Arson Task Force also reports their investigation does not lead them to believe the fire is related to Roy Moore or the allegations against him, they do not say how they were able to determine that so quickly.”

Oh! Whilst you’re freezing (which sux), we are melting (also sux)!

Temperatures to rise above 40C as south-east Australia braces for scorcher

It’s currently 41C @ Midday. Will probably hit 45C, maybe more. And I’m on my way out for a grocery run (out of milk, bread & a few other essentials)! Lucky me. *sigh*

Tom Steyer has no intention of letting any opportunity to annoy Drumpf get by him. He financed millions of dollars in “Impeach Trump” ads. Buying Congress books without providing someone to read them for the GOP members is a waste. He should have waited for the audio version of the book, so Congress and the Trump family could understand what is in the book.

It sounds like they have a suspect in the arson and it is probably a local pyromaniac who has less than no understanding of why he/she starts fires. Someone may have ‘helped’ the arsonist select a target, but proving it would be a PITA as many pyros have multiple mental problems.

I saw the pictures of your roads melting. That was an unpleasant surprise down here when I was a kid and tried to walk across a MacAdam road barefooted. The stench is no prize winner either.

It’s miserable in the summer when you have walk across the parking lot and then when you get back to the car it is 40 to 50°C inside.

Well, I survived my expedition. Only because I used taxi’s rather than the bus! It’s definitely bloody hot!

I was just checking my twitter feed… And came across this horrific story! Anyone would think it’s fiction, but it sadly isn’t. It’s unbelievable, or should be.

US visa regulations: How a mistake got me banned from the US for life

And Australia is supposed to be the BBF of USA? Did you know we still don’t have a US Ambassador here? It’s been over a year and a half! But our fuckwit gutless PM is still kissing Dotard ample arse!

Nobody couldn’t pay me a $million to travel to the USA.

“The System” sucks. There isn’t a single computer system operated by the the US government that contains totally accurate information. None of the US government “warning lists” can be verified as accurate. After Snowden it should be obvious there are no government data bases that cannot be hacked. Hell, as far as protecting classified information goes, Hillary Clinton’s private e-mail server was better protected than the official State Department server. The biggest problem we have outside of the military in this country is the continued use of local dates and times in data bases, rather than UTC/GMT/Z-time.

She got visas in Australia, so a day just got flushed. If you don’t use UTC in the calculations the answers are wrong. Flying out of Alaska I had days that lasted 40 hours using local time. On Shemya, taking off you lost a day, and got it back when you landed because of the Dateline.

My Dog, we don’t even write dates like the rest of the world. Everyone else writes day/month/year while the US writes month/day/year.

We have people buying firearms who should have been banned because someone failed to file paperwork. I spent a month dealing with one government agency after my Mother died because someone failed to check a box on a form when it was input.

Trump made the US government nasty, especially the immigration service.

As for an ambassador – do you really want someone Trump selected in Australia? Consider what you might get, and stop talking about it. You might never have to put up with one of his asshole “friends” 😈

We’ll take anyone that would make our PM look even more stupid than he already does & confound him. And one less excuse for he & his cabal of thieves to use it as an excuse to travel to USA @ our expense to check on the properties, holdings & to party.

Regarding the above story, that incident happened before Dotard was elected. Then it became truly insane.

I mentioned some years ago here that I was put on the no fly list. Actually, my name was. And it’s a very common name, I know of 2 others here that share the same DOB & there are likely to be more more. I found out later it only applies if I use my Aus. Passport (which I haven’t renewed anyway & won’t), but I can still use my EU passport which I have kept updated as I would like to see Europe again one day & letting it lapse makes it very difficult to renew later. The immigration system in USA doesn’t even account for dual-citizenship or legal multiple passports. Anyone who travels to the USA, is an idiot.

No one that Trump would appoint as an ambassador is likely to make anyone else appear stupid. So far he has appointed people who have pretty much paid for the country they want to go to. You would think that the ‘Five Eyes’ would be first in line , if for no other reason than English is the official language. It isn’t a lack of respect, it’s a lack of competence on the part of the Trump administration. This is aggravated by the fact that no one wants to work for Trump.

[Off Topic: I am having the same temperatures in Fahrenheit that you are having in Celsius – weird]

Hell, the US officials weren’t able to deal with the fact that I had a Tourist passport as well as an Official Duty passport and most of my European travel was based on having NATO orders stationing me in Europe. Of course in the old days it was just a delay until someone who was in charge could look up the rules, rather than the modified Spanish Inquisition that people are subjected to today.

Trump is killing tourism.
