Cohen Partner Pleads

NBC reports that Michael Cohen’s business partner takes a plea deal:

Evgeny Freidman, 47, who is known as the Taxi King, pleaded guilty Tuesday to a low-level felony in Albany County Court, in upstate New York, for stealing nearly $5 million in state taxes and has agreed to cooperate in state or federal investigations. The deal, in which he will pay the state $5 million but avoid jail time, was first reported in The New York Times.

For years, Freidman, a Russian immigrant, has managed Cohen’s taxi medallions, which give owners the right to operate New York City yellow cabs. Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who is probing alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, referred an ongoing investigation of Michael Cohen to federal prosecutors in New York.

These are state charges, so the Presidential pardon doesn’t apply, and Michael Cohen has state and Federal targets on him. If he wants to see his kids grow up, he is going to have to cop a plea.

Meanwhile Drumpf is abusing his power trying to force the Postal Service to double Amazon’s shipping rates because the Washington Post writes negative stories about him; he is obstructing the Mueller investigation by forcing the Justice Department to reveal confidential sources; and he is waffling on the meeting with Kim Jong-un as it doesn’t look like a deal is going to happen.

Heh.

Heh.

Heh heh heh heh heh.

Sorry, just thinking about it makes me chortle. Cohen definitely is in the crosshairs here… and it couldn’t happen to a more mobbed-up lawyer. I wonder if the TV series will be called “Better Call Cohen”? LOL.

That Trump had Michael Cohen as an attorney is a pretty good indication of what a loser Trump is. Cohen is screwed. Prosecuting him is a winner for whoever wants to be Attorney General of New York. This case will be good for both AG and going on to be Governor or Senator of New York. If it’s a woman, President after that.

If Cohen hangs tough, he will hang separately…

Trump Pretty Sure Robert Mueller Gonna Steal Midterm Elections Like A Common Russia

What exactly is Mueller going to do? At most he could issue an indictment of Trump, but Trump couldn’t be tried until after leaving office. Some people claim that you can’t indict a sitting President, but no one has tested that claim in court. Currently it is Department of Justice policy not to indict the President, but a grand jury could do it, if it wanted to.

The Republicans are in deep yogurt and know it, which is why so many are retiring rather than spending money to lose. The people who can win a Republican primary, aren’t sane enough to win the general election. In six months we’ll see what happens.

I seriously doubt that Mueller is going to try for an indictment of Trump. Everybody around him, yes. Trump himself, no. That would set up one heckuva Constitutional crisis.

As far as the midterms go, firing Mueller right now would basically give the midterms to the Democrats. Supposedly Trump has been howling at everybody in the Justice Department to fire Mueller, while everybody around Trump is saying no, no, no, it would be political suicide. So yeah, Trump may be right that Mueller gives the midterm to the Democrats. If he fires Mueller, that’s pretty darn certain.

Mueller can’t indict anyone. It is the grand jury that issues indictments, and they can indict nyone they want. Prosecutors may no want to pursue the case, but there is nothing in the law or Constitution that prevents a President from being indicted. Yes, it would go to the Supreme Court, but it can happen, regardless. Mueller won’t seek the indictment, and it won’t be pursued while a President is in office.

If he fires Mueller, the Gop will lose the Senate as well as the House and the hearings will begin in earnest.
