Hell No, Joe!

Joe Biden announced his candidacy for the nomination for President.

Two things, among many, disqualify him for me: Anita Hill and Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005. I don’t forget and I won’t forgive.

For all those people who keep saying people aren’t ready for a woman to be President – with all her baggage Hillary Clinton received 3 million more votes than Trump. In spite of all of the “sins” of the media, James Comey, the attacks of the GOP, and the assistance of Russia to Trump, she decisively won the popular vote. After a few years of Trump they are more than ready.

In ancient times (1960s) the mantra was don’t trust anyone over 30. At my age (> three score and 10) my contemporaries are one accident away from dementia. Joe & Bernie need to retire.

Literally the only people I’ve heard saying that the US isn’t ready for a female President are the fervent Clintonites who tried to force Hillary down everyone’s throats. Hillary massively outspent Trump, had the vast majority of media supporting her, had name recognition plus nostalgia with a lot of Dems, and still couldn’t win. A Hillary clone isn’t likely to do better this time around, whether it’s Biden, Harris, or someone else.

Since 2016 the Dems have done little to build a solid base except attack Trump and smear lefties. They’ve refused to abandon the corrupt and anti-democratic superdelegate system. By spending the past 3 years ginning up conspiracy propaganda, ignoring serious issues, and evading responsibility, the Dems have set Trump up to win again. Those who can’t see that are fooling themselves.

No more centrists!

I have to agree that Joe & Bernie need to retire! With soooo many candidates currently throwing their various appendages into the POTUS nominee ring… The Dem’s are (as they often do) screwing themselves! THey call out the GOP for not having a plan (which most intelligent watchers know is untrue; it’s just that their plan is sample & basic: Screw everyone & grab everything they can). It’s obvious that the Dem’s have no plans about pretty much anything right now! 🤷🏾‍♂️😔

At least our ALP FINALLY came up with a few actual plans. Whether it was too late, we’ll soon find out. 🤷🏾‍♂️😔

One of the things I really like about Elizabeth Warren is that she can identify the problems, has plans/policies to correct them, and she can talk and explain things to everyone. She also scares the hell out of Wall Street and the big banks – about damn time they were afraid.

True. I like Warren. She’s copping a lot of heat from Dem’s (she’s always copped it from the neo-Con’s) since announcing her bid. On Twitter, it seems mostly from pro-Bernie supporters. I first saw her on TDS when Jon interviewed her about… 5-6 years ago. I’ve seen several interviews since. 😀 I’d probably vote for her (though, given I can’t, it doesn’t really mean much I suppose. Too bad she’s not an Aussie! Be much better than the candidates we currently have to choose from!)

Maybe they have straightened out their citizenship problems for the candidates this round in your election. They may be worthless but they shouldn’t have known split loyalties this go round. It looks like everyone wants to fight the same battles as the last election.

Warren has priorities, policies, and plans. When you ask her how she’s intends to pay for something, she tells you, and she isn’t vague about it. You don’t have to agree with her on everything, but she has a logical framework designed to improve the lives of the bottom 90%, not just the top 10%.

🤣🤣 I needed a laugh! Even if it is at our own expense! One (minor) party may have 19 ineligible candidates! And the LNP are finding more every day! ALP even found a few. So… NO!

And more.🤷🏾‍♂️🙄

I didn’t agree with Obama on everything (and neither did many American’s I know). Nobody can ever please everyone. As far as I know, Warren is a straight shooter. She’s a rare politician… Never been caught in a lie yet! 😉 😀

We do have an ex-Olympic skier, Zali Steggall, who just may do the impossible! Kick Tony Abbott out of his “safe as houses” seat! She’s more center-right than I’d like, but better than an “extreme lunatic” like Abbott!

Abbott is convinced he is the smartest person on the planet. I’m not sure how that is reconciled with the fact that he is the “former prime minister”, and the polls are showing he may be a “former MP”. Ms Steggall has a major advantage – she believes in this reality.

Abbott is obviously more intelligent than Trump, but that hasn’t seemed to help him recognize the world in which all of the rest of us live.

I am gobsmacked. After all of the Sturm und Drang over citizenship in the last round, how in hell could anyone considering running for any office not have taken the necessary steps to clear their status before “throwing their hat in the ring” [an American expression derived from the practice of actually throwing your hat in the boxing ring to challenge someone to a fight at carnivals/traveling circuses].

OTOH, your election is going to be over before we even have formal candidates for our election.

The Clarence Thomas hearings permanently changed my opinion about certain politicians after watching their behavior and treatment of Anita Hill. While I didn’t agree with some of them, I always thought they fundamentally wanted to do the right things (we just didn’t agree on what that was). It was an eye opener to see the ones that degraded her in front of the world when she had no good reason to expose herself to all of that if it wasn’t true. They didn’t care if it was true or not, they wanted “their” person on the Court and they would bring down anyone coming between them and their mission. Truth be damned. A reasonable person could have said that they had no way of knowing for sure if she was telling the truth, but they could have been courteous and explained their position. There was no reason to attack her the way they did. A little respect would have gone a long way.

As you can probably tell, I’m still pissed about it all these many years after the fact. You’d think I would be over it by now, but I have a long memory.

I don’t think Thomas or his wife add anything necessary to the ‘general welfare’ of this country. As I said – I don’t forget and don’t forgive.

11 JuanitaM { 05.12.19 at 8:47 pm }

Yeah, up until that happened, I gave representatives the benefit of the doubt. Yes, I was THAT stupid. Then I realized they didn’t deserve the benefit of the doubt. It changed my mind about them forever.

12 Bryan { 05.12.19 at 9:37 pm }

There was no logical or political reason for Thomas to be on the Supreme Court. Democrats in the Senate have no excuse for allowing him to sit on the Court. It was too big a screw up to forgive.

13 Kryten42 { 05.12.19 at 11:23 pm }

Speaking of Justices and political reasons for being appointed… When Trumpand the GOP were absolutely determined to get Kavanaugh appointed after Justice Anthony Kennedy suddenly and mysteriously resigned… I was suspicious and did some research. I found that the man at Deutsche Bank who approved Trump’s loans, at a time no other bank would sign off on any of them, was Kennedy’s son! What a coincidence… no? 🤔🙄😒

Have you seen this? I am PMSL and will be for awhile!

Anyone with a clue knew (at least since 2014) that Kolfage was a conman & scammer. Thankfully, he mostly scam’s the moronic & easily conned MAGAt’s!

I’m sure the MAGAt’s will not believe it at all, because they would first have to admit they were totally conned and completely stupid. But this is no surprise to anyone who knows Dotard always has been a conman and crook. Only a complete crook or a complete moron would support him!

15 Bryan { 05.13.19 at 10:35 pm }

Yes, Kennedy’s son was Trump’s private banker at Deutsche Bank, but it looks more like Kennedy didn’t want to deal with the problems that would create for him, so he bailed with his full salary forever. Kind of like when Trump’s sister ‘retired’ from her Appeals Court position as a tax fraud case was being looked at by the ethics people.

He paid $1 million for a 41-foot fishing boat with four outboards. Normally ‘yachts’ have dingies, and either inboard engines or sails. That boat is a very large hole in the water into which he will dump massive amounts of currency every year. He is operating in salt water and quartz sand, which eat engines. He will need a slip when he is using it, and dry storage during the cold season. Currently he has it at Sandestin, an over-priced tourist trap. His dock rental is probably twice my rent or more. The thing about con men is that they are often easy marks for other con artists, and anyone who sells boats is a con artist.

Yeah…🤦🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️

Here’s a good news tweet of mine you might enjoy! Manafort has been disbarred & the Lawyer (a member of #TheResistance) is now going after your AG Pam Bondi. 👍🏾😊 He also really likes Warren as the POTUS Candidate (he is from MA, so that’s not surprising). 😉

Elizabeth Warren Deserves Your Undivided Attention

Most jurisdictions automatically disbar attorneys who have been convicted of a felony (generally any offense that can result in a prison sentence of more than one year). “Puppy Pam” (her one major win was shutting down puppy mills) took a $20k “campaign contribution” from Trump Inc. and then decided not to join the law suit against Trump University. Total coincidence, of course 😈

Other than puppy mills, she is a good-looking blond and a Republican which was enough to be elected Attorney General in Florida.

I have hopes that my Congresscritter will be disbarred, and someone will start proceedings against Lindsey Graham for his recent conduct. It would be nice if public officials started obeying our laws.

Been pretty much offline since our farce of an election. I’ve done 2 tweets the past week. basically “I TOLD YOU SO!” I’ve been warning Aussies the past few Months the ALP would screw themselves & they sure did! LNP actually increased their majority. Now the ALP are trying to decide between two new leadership candidates, bad & worse. the bad one, Albanese is a left-leaning god-botherer who wants to “bring bach religion (ie. Christianity) into Politics”! The other is LNP light (mine, mine, mine… And this bit for you!). The ALP has two major factions, one is center-left, they other is RWNJ. The better candidates have all dropped out as then know they have no support from the factions, so no point trying.

The ALP lost in QLD & Tas. Qld want the Adani mine & other coal projects as most of them are unemployed. In spite of the fact that all reports are that Adani & many investors etc all know it’s nonviable and are just trying to screw the best deal to exit. BHP has announced it is officially no longer interested in “thermal coal” and is going to focus on copper & nickel (which means mostly WA here, not QLD). QLD has mainly coal, Uranium & Iron. Tas. also want’s more jobs, which is mostly logging there, that ALP & Greens basically stopped for “environmental” reasons. Which people with no work couldn’t care less about.

I think I’ll just go hibernate for the next few years. I discovered I have a cold this morning, so I’m crawling back to bed. Wake me in 2023! (And don’t I wish that was possible!!)😕😒

Your election was a mess that no one predicted. The European parliamentary election in Britain is a mess that no one predicted. May is out and Boris may be in – what the world didn’t need was another moron with an odd blonds hairdo.

Yes, why hasn’t someone invented suspended animation?
