Treason

The Constitution, Article III, Section 3:

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.

The Congress shall have Power to declare the Punishment of Treason, but no Attainder of Treason shall work Corruption of Blood, or Forfeiture except during the Life of the Person attainted.

Unless Congress passes a declaration of war, treason cannot be charged against anyone.

Coup, witchhunt, collusion, “deep state” – language has been a major victim of the Trump regime as “alternative facts” replace reality. There are 600 more days of this garbage. The House needs to impeach Trump to show the world that there are still sane people in the US.

Perfic! (To quote Pa Larkin of “The Darling Buds of May” — One of mom’s favorite shows.)

I retweeted this (whilst having some hot soup & pill’s for my damned cold!) Back to bed…

Hope your new A/C is working well for you! 😀

The A/C is very effective, thank you.

Chicken broth is a great substitute for coffee or tea when I have a cold. Now, if I have a cough, well that requires tea, honey, and bourbon. 🙂

Better today. Had my first coffee in a week! Heeeeeeaven in a cup! 😉 😀

I’m similar, except substitute Scotch for bourbon. Grandpa’s old favorite cold recipe. Works for me.

My heater (reverse cycle A/C) is getting a real workout! Had to go into town for an appointment Mon. afternoon. Was 11C! 5AM now (I crawled into bed after dinner about 7 PM), and it’s 7C. But I can’t sleep any more, so catching up on news, eMail etc.

Here’s an item you might be interested in! We liked Classic-Shell, but the developer abandoned it after Aug. 2017 unfortunately. It’s been taken over & forked on Github as “Open Shell”. Looks good! I just installed it. It imported all my settings I’d saved from Classic-Shell. So far, so good… 😉

Think I’ll make a coffee! Stay cool mate… I’ll stay warm. And cry when I get my next electricity bill (unit price just increased last month, just in time for the busiest usage time of the year. How convenient.)

Ohhhhhhh… The irony!! 😲😏

I just came across and tweeted this… (It should be read after my 1st tweet above about QLD to get the max irony impact!)🤭

Speaking of the energy sector, the US government is now referring to natural gas as “Freedom gas”. There is nothing “free” about methane. It costs to acquire it. It costs to transport it. And it costs to burn it. It may be better than coal, but it is not better than wind or solar generation, which don’t generate greenhouse gases.

You can’t convince people that extraction is a short term business. Oil, methane, coal, uranium, etc. are all finite resources. Even drummers have figured it out 😉

Thanks for the link to Open Shell. The standard Win10 start menu is too annoying to tolerate. Sick and no coffee – sounds like war crime territory. Glad you’re beginning to feel better.

6 Kryten42 { 06.08.19 at 4:31 am }

Thanks Bryan. Yeah, war crime territory is apt. Particularly with all the insanity in the World now. But better now with a steady coffee infusion the past week. Just having one now.

One of my fave beans (Italian) were on a very rare big discount for A$13.50 for a kg bag (usually A$30/kg) just before I got the cold! so I bought three bag’s! Will last me a few Months. One less thing to worry about buying or running out of!

It’s weird though… According to our fearful lying scumbag PM… Our economy is going gangbusters (this in spite of all the evidence to the contrary, like the RBA (Reserve Bank of Australia) reducing interest rates to the lowest they’ve ever been (1.25%) and hinting they may even be reduced further)! Anyway, the past Months there have been huge sales everywhere or just usual items being discounted (or “reduced” in marketing parlance). The tap water here tastes like refuse from a chemical factory (metallic & too much fluoride & a hint of chlorine & is acidic – I have a water test kit from when I owned an aquarium years ago, so I can test the water.) So, I buy ‘bottled” water (in a 10l cask actually). Most are just filtered tap or water from some questionable source, especially any of the several brands owned by Coke (acidic usually, pure water should be alkaline). One I like is called “Tasmanian Mountain Water” and I know the source (been there years ago). It has a pH of 7.60 with appropriate trace elements of calcium, magnesium, silica & sodium (another way to tell if it really is spring or *mountain* water. It was $13/10l cask about a year ago, then dropped to $11, then $9… and now has been $6 for the past 5-6 weeks! And it was getting hard to get! So I got 10 casks & and order 1 every week. There were none on stock last week. I’ll see if my delivery tomorrow has one but that’s why I stocked up! It is very good & perfect for coffee. 😀 😉

The Supermarket even started selling the imported Icelandic Glacial water which I’ve seen before at high prices! They were selling it for A$3.85/lt, but a couple weeks ago started selling for $1.60/l. So I grabbed a few bottles (the last 3 in the store), and now you can only buy it with an online pick-up or delivery order. It has a pH of 8.4, pretty much the sweet spot for Human physiology. 😀 And I really can taste the difference, even feel it.

ANYWAY… My point is… If our (and the global) economy are doing so great… Why is the price of everything falling like a rock to stimulate sales? Even imported items!🤔🙄

Post election, our “Middle-class” is getting a hammering by various well known people & even the media (that must be a first here). I tweeted an example yesterday. Tim is correct IMNSHO!

Stay cool mate! I’ll stay warm (the temp’s improved a couple decrees C the past couple day’s, & it’s finally stopped raining, so that helps. I can do some overdue laundry tomorrow!) 😉

You are absolutely right about the meaning of the central bank lowering interests rates. They do it to bolster a faltering economy. It sounds like retailers are dumping inventory to avoid losses in an economic downturn.

I think I need to switch to a new system for making coffee. With air conditioning, I drink coffee beyond breakfast even in the summer, so I should make better coffee. Of course, with it raining for the past four days things are definitely cooling off after the heat wave. Alas, this has led to floods in the middle of the country. The farmers just can’t catch a break.

I need to get some sleep. Less than 600 more days of Trump.

8 Kryten42 { 06.11.19 at 1:53 am }

I drink coffee because it’s my “wake-up” juice in the morning. 😀 But it curiously has a benefit to helping with depression little, as well as being a stimulant. Anything is better than Pharma overpriced drugs & their many negative “side effects”!

I don’t use my coffee machine a lot, usually when I want an espresso in the afternoon (or occasionally a cappuccino). I good French Press (plunger) is faster & easier. I have that double-walled stainless steel one I got some years ago for about $60. One of my better investments! The glass ones cool too fast & break easily. Also getting expensive. It can hold 2 mugs of coffee & keeps it hot enough to have them if I want in the morning. My kettle has a thermostat control & I usually have it @ 80c. With cream, I usually don’t have to wait for it to cool much & saves a bit of electricity every day. Beans (or ground beans) are so much cheaper than the instant crap! And just pure roasted beans! Nothing else. Grinders aren’t expensive either & a good one can also be used for herbs etc. A fresh ground coffee hit typically lasts 5-6 hours for me. If I’m having a hard time “waking up” in the AM, I use 4-5 scoops (for 2 mugs), 3 otherwise. It hits pretty hard within 10 min’s! Awesome buzz that clears the cobwebs fast! 😀

We have 3 years of ScumMo and gang now. Plus they increased their majority. And some people wonder why I call most Humans thoughtless, delusional morons!

Now they are using the AFP to go after Journalists on specious charges.

They should be going after this old moron! But they won’t of course! Have a laugh at us… May as well! 😉

I tweeted a good piece about Sen. Warren and her “Marshal Plan” for the USA. I really like Warren! I wish we could steal her! 😉 😀

I hope you’re getting good peaceful sleep. 🙂

Senator Professor Warren knows whereof she speaks, and understands that you have to secure the revenue source before you propose anything new in the US. The Republicans don’t mind an extra $2 trillion in deficit for tax cuts for the upper class and corporations, but if you want to spend money on childcare you had better have every penny accounted for beforehand.

Congratulations, you have caught up with the tactics of US politics when it comes to using law enforcement to harass the media. The politicians really don’t like it when the media notices malfeasance by the government. They always claim that it is a matter of “national security”.

I have been looking at French presses for a while. I have an espresso pot for the stove and have been looking at grinders, but don’t make purchases until I’m sure I will be getting what I want. It’s not like there’s an active coffee culture down here.

I’ll let you know when I decide. Currently, I’m following the Women’s World Cup. The US Women’s side has been a power for a while. It’s too bad they can’t represent us in the men’s version – they are much better than our men’s side.

You may be amused to know that with all the current Iran insanity in the USA, I decided to hunt for some of your old threads (around 2008) when we last discussed all this & tweeted them. So glad you keep everything! 😉 😀 (Actually, I vaguely remember we may have discussed Iran later also… Maybe around 2012/13? Not sure.

https://twitter.com/Kryten_42/status/1141925462156775424

I decided after this tweet yesterday:
https://twitter.com/Kryten_42/status/1141602955965022208

PS: If you have any relevant threads I missed (and I know I have), please let me know. 😊👍🏾

11 Bryan { 06.21.19 at 4:33 pm }

I’m building a post on the latest US screw up over Iran. Hopefully, I’ll finish it later tonight.

Update: ran out of time. I’ll have to do it tomorrow.
