Tropical Depression Three

Tropical Depression ThreeIf you’re keeping count, Tropical Depression Three formed off the Atlantic Coast of Florida at 4 PM CDT yesterday and became a remnant low at 10 AM CDT today. There is moderate to high wind shear along the coast at the moment that is keeping storm formation down.

Le Tour 2019 – Stage 16

Tour de FranceNîmes > Nîmes

Distance: 177 kilometers.

A “Flat” stage, except for the category 4 climb, and a sprint finish.

  • Côte de Saint-Jean-du-Pin 96 km (cat 4: 1.8km @ 4.2%)

The intermediate sprint is at 93.5 km, Vallérargues.

Caleb Ewan won his second stage on a stage that is best described as hot… HOT! With air temperatures at least in the upper 90s, people on bicycles really should find some shade and park them. Ewan is Australian, so he’s familiar with hot and he said he wasn’t feeling 100% in the temperatures. He joins Alaphilippe and Yates as a double stage winner in the second half of the Tour.

The General Classification has stayed stagnant for some time, but the race is now headed to the Alps, and mountains have a way of changing things. The sprinters will have to hang on until the final stage for another chance at glory.

Note: A quick weather check shows that tomorrow’s stage will be in an area with an “Excessive heat alert”. Not ideal circumstances for a bicycle race.
