The Republican Senate Majority leader doesn’t even wait for the funeral to demonstrate what a total political hack he is by saying that he would push for the confirmation of a replacement within 50 days of the Presidential election in contrast to his “new rule” back in 2015 that President Obama couldn’t fill a vacancy within a year of the election. He is an oozing pit of political corruption.

We are fscked for the next 30+ years. Forget what everybody says the Democrats *should* do. We already know they won’t do it. Because they’re cowards. So say goodbye to voting rights. And women’s rights. And minorities’ rights. They’re all gone.
Add to the fact that Trump has a good chance of winning re-election, and the #1 advice book for the next year may well be “How to survive living under a right-wing dictatorship”.
I wish I was more certain you were wrong. So far three Senate Republicans are opposed but there has to be a forth to block it. The wild card is the Arizona Senate race – the winner can be sworn in quickly and the Dem Kelly has a solid lead.
We are going to know until it happens. Chuck Schumer has never shown any courage.
