Turning The Corner

We have indeed turned the corner on COVID-19. It happened in late August or early September. Unfortunately Trump, “De Mentis” of Florida, “Noclue” of South Dakota et al. didn’t ask for directions and turned the wrong way. With mask and social distancing requirements imposed by major retailers and sane government officials, we had been on a downward slope until that point.

You may remember the demand to open schools, and threats to funding if there weren’t in-person classes. Schools are the nations daycare centers for low-paid workers getting back to work. Colleges and universities apparently needed to open to provide live sports TV on Saturday. This resulted in the increase in the spread of cases that every infectious disease expert predicted, following the jump start in the upper Mid West caused by the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. As was commonly said by my elders when I was growing up- “You can buy them books, but they’ll just eat the covers and use the rest for toilet paper.” (Most people waited until after they had read the book before using the pages for toilet paper to the time of COVID.)

One would think that Putin has placed a bounty on American COVID deaths with Trump’s eagerness to swell the plague rats via his “rallies”.

…and now we hear that they really have mo plans to contain it. WTH?!? It makes me sad. All those medical workers trying their best to keep people alive, and this administration keep super-spreading.😢

All he had to do to get reelected was to get out of the way and let the experts deal with it. That’s what every leader who was successful in dealing with the virus did. The US dealt with ebola, SARS, MERS, etc. and the people involved are still on the payroll.

Trump believes that he is the only one who knows how to do anything, so he screwed it up. Hell, they only reason he’s alive is that he has socialized medicine to take care of him.

There was a plan, OWL, but they threw it out because it was prepared during the Obama administration.

That’s what I don’t get, Shirt, he’s killing his voters with these rallies.

If the Dems win this they are going to have to hit the road running to get things headed in the right direction.

That’s a good point! It ticks me off that he and his water carriers all yammered about how the previous admin didn’t leave them anything, and were so horrible. The followers and fans just ape his b.s. They share all sorts of stupid memes that are easily disproved. They are unwilling to look it up, because it’s what they like and want to believe. I’ve asked friends if they share untruths, doesn’t that make them liars, too?. They don’t care. I’ve learned not to trust the people I know that follow him. What is the saying, trust but verify? I hope there are good accounting firms that check the books thoroughly!

There is no doubt that he is ripping off tax payers (which don’t include Trumps). It would be nice if the next administration actually investigated and charged people in this administration who have broken the law.

In the song, The Boxer, Paul Simon said it best: “people hear what they want to hear and disregard the rest.” Trump hates things his followers hate and that’s all they ask. His followers aren’t interested in truth or justice, they want people and things they don’t like attacked.

Trump is a salesman. He doesn’t build anything, he sells his delusions. He doesn’t pay his bills, his contractors, or his taxes. He’s a con artist. People don’t want to admit they have been taken which makes it difficult to convict con men.

You are correct, of course. Before they selected him, I thought he would appear on the tv show, “American Greed”.

I’m sitting here as a hurricane passes about 200 miles to the west listening to the wind and rain from the outer bands and thinking – what kind of stupid do you have to be to own a gold toilet. If there’s a lightning strike anywhere near you would be in for a real surprise 😈

I worked for some very wealthy people (how about a mosaic tile driveway) and their houses were nothing like Trump’s condo in New York. He’s all show and no substance. What has he done with his money? He has thrown it away on terrible deals. What’s the point of acquiring wealth to throw it away?

I don’t trust people who don’t have pets.

“I don’t trust people who don’t have pets.”

Yes. That is telling. in many cases (that I have known of), they had a pet and the pet despised them. Sometimes just ran away, other times trashed the place etc.

I think it’s absolutely 100% guaranteed that the Trump’s have been seriously screwing “tax payer’s”! Just as our LNP have.

I do NOT envy Biden/Harris AT ALL! It will take some time to have a large enough team in place to just find out just how screwed the USA is! but there are some things they may be able to do, assuming they actually win, with will mostly depend on how badly the GOP & *friends* have rigged it.🤷‍♂️🤔

You are correct about the difficulties that Biden faces. He has to find the scientists and professional to staff the government and get rid of Trump’s toadies. The Supreme Court and Postal Service need fixing. We need a working testing and tracing system; masks and other PPE; the economy; infrastructure; climate change, etc. It’s a big job that is going to take years to fix.

We also need to investigate and prosecute the crimes of the Trump administration.

If you can’t get a dog to love you, you are a really sad excuse of a human.
